I feel it's the former. How is he as an actor? I've never seen him onscreen but even if he is Nawaaz + Irrfan, it's still pretty amazing.

I dont believe the gay for pay rumors. It was someone commenting on Pinkvilla and anyone can do that. Just like those Fawad is bisexual/sleeps with producers for TV roles in Pak rumors some members said here who probably did to piss off his fans here. Or even those rumors of Ash and Big B. The MM blind seems more legit to me as I have always suspected he has someone powerful backing him. I dont think someone being gay for pay can go far as anyone can do that and its no big deal I guess.

^^ Mainly because that bit is very difficult to emulate..I have no idea how SRK is now or how happy they are in their marriage but gotta give it to him for not giving up on someone who was with him much before he achieved anything in life..Its the most difficult thing to do cos its so easy to lose sight especially because you might have a lot of options now but what these ppl fail to realize is that most ppl who come into their life now are doing so because of your status and position right now..While that girlfriend/ wife you so casually dumped stood by you when you were a nobody and will probably stay with you even when you lose everything you have gained..

Thats true! I was never a fan of SSR but he seemed very genuine about Ankita so their breakup is pretty shocking to me. I thought SRK had already removed the stigma of married men being successfully able to become superstars.

SRK and Fawad were hugely popular TV stars and had 2-3 hit serials to their name before they came to Bollywood.
SRK did Fauji and Circus...he debuted with people he knew from his Circus days, Aziz Mirza who directed him in Circus, signed him for Raju ban gaya Gentleman first but that film released after Deewana.
So SRK didnt have to go through casting couch and neither did Fawad I guess since I dont think the Kapoors(Sonam and her sister) would take advantage of him. 😆

^ Are Moranis that major though? I thought they only produce RCE films which is nothing to write home about...and truthfully, they haven't produced/gotten any big films for their daughter who is an aspiring actress...so I don't see how they can do that for SSR, but not for their daughter.
Anyways, the Sushant-Ankita story seems to have played out like a real life version of Luck By Chance..I'm guessing he thinks being linked to more BW actresses, faking relationships will keep him in the news until he can find better footing like it has for others. 😕 It is not like he is untalented anyways. Sushant used to speak so fondly and crazily about Ankita even until a few months back...I desperately wanted to believe it was forever but I was always wary when Sushant kept saying we'll marry next year since the last few years. That's always a red flag. Maybe they did fall out of love or whatever, but he could have handled it with a lot more respect and dignity.

I think SRK genuinely values those who were in his life before he became a star as he doesn't have anyone else..maybe from losing his parents so early he really realized the importance of not letting go of that early support. I think he is, and always has been, very well aware that BW is fickle and the only people who will stand by you are the ones who knew you when you were nothing. As for casting couch, he was quite popular from his TV days and used to get plenty of movie offers...anyways, he only took them up because he wanted to get far away from Delhi after his mom died. In those days, the jump from TV to movies wasn't that big either.

I don't think Fawad has faced any casting couch in BW.

MrsKhan: It's pretty hard to imagine why sane & otherwise neutral members would cook up stories about an actor who hadn't even hit the mainstream at that point in time & random members weren't the only ones to cook up the SSR rumours, so I reckon let's agree to disagree about this. :)

Was he actually serious about her even after his BW success? I don't follow them at all but there were BIs about him cheating on her with a hairdresser, some slap etc? It's incredibly hard not to be swayed by Success so kudos to Shah & FK. At the end of the day, they've a relatively happy lives with their wives since before their fame. In Shah's case it's even more commendable seeing how he was middle-class at most & it was Gauri who had everything to lose marrying a struggling Muslim TV actor with no prospects & no wealth & at the time, no prospect of it too.

@Roggie: Absolutely right. All said & done Shah has great love of family & it's very obvious from the way he talks about them esp Gauri. She seems to anchor him & provide him perspective which very few people would do. His deep love for his kids is immensely endearing too. :) SRK has always seemed to be very emotional too.. In a lot ways Veer reminds me of him! Even Fawad but there are some startling traits that both Veer & Shah share.

People say Ekta spared him because Ankita continued working on their TV show.. But that makes no sense because EK only does that for people very close to her *wink* so why did she spare SSR?

His projects are very good too. Is he actually that efficient an actor? I've never watched him on TV or on the screen so cannot comment. But his steady rise definitely says he must've very powerful people backing him.

SSR signed his first film with Ekta's cousin, Abhishek Kapoor so she didnt have a grudge against him, like she usually has with actors who quit her shows midway.
Also Ankita agreed to play the role of mother to grown up kids and later grandmother too in Pavitra Rishta...she trudged on in the serial while SSR went ahead with his BW career, became famous and then dumped her after leading her on for 6 yrs.

Moranis if I remember right have underworld connections. Films arent their only business. They started off in films with those shows they used to do abroad and thats how they know SRK. He is the biggest draw abroad. Also they were involved in some scam recently. Shady people whom SRK should honestly avoid. But you have a point about not doing anything for Zoa. I have no logical answer to that. Only thing I can think of is they did try with Zoa and financing her films will attract more attention of government agencies vs financing others films. Either way I dont have any answer for how SSR's films ger backing. His last hit was in 2013. He had a disaster in 2015. Yet every week he announces a new film. And these are not low budget Phantom type films but decent 40-50cr budgeted ones. I mean Raabta is being shot abroad, Dhoni had lot of work involved. Homi has announced another film with him. There is also this Salman-KJo film in the pipeline which is something like Bang Bang so it wont be cheap either.
If you compare him to say someone like Arjun who is well connected in the industry, has more hits to his credit, acting abilities and charisma are similar...Arjun has just one film in his kitty now. Even that film is a SSR reject! How come SSR gets so much confidence from his backers?

@MEB: Perhaps you have not noticed but many members do lots of crazy things on this forum-create MIDs to bash members because they criticized their favorites films in the past, hack user ids, find members pictures and 'expose' them, publish personal chats from YM or Twitter. So what's the big deal about lying? I take it as a pinch of salt unless backed up 'proof'. Even this SSR thing I am talking about is only my thought and I have no actual proof. So yes lets agree to disagree.

About him being serious about her...I never took those blinds seriously as they looked happy enough otherwise. I find it strange they grew apart in like a week or two. 😕But I guess he wasnt serious...otherwise why was the actual marriage postponed so many times?

@Pallavi: Ah, ok. Not surprised one bit though. Most actors are scum of the worst degree & I've noticed that often if a relationship trudges on with no formalisation, it doesn't last long. Most people who taste success dump their "less successful" partners sooner or later. It's a dog eats dog world but it's very sad.

I was on Pavitra Rishta forum for 2 yrs and there were rumors that Sushant Ankita had married in secret with only immediate family in attendance.
But of course Sushant refuted the rumors. This was at the time when they bought a flat together in Mumbai.
Ankita was rumored to be very possessive and jealous/suspicious and there was this story from PR sets that Sushi came to visit her and she slapped him in front of witnesses.
Whatever the truth, we suspected he was leading her on and would not marry her in the end.

As turquoisedress mentioned, this Sushant Ankita story has weird resemblance to the movie Luck By Chance. Only difference is that Farhan's character wasnt a TV star to begin with unlike SSR. But fling with costar, dumping GF all that matches.

Yeah, some of us called him Sushi...😆😆 I watched PR regularly at that time.
The costar hes currently having a fling with...Kriti Sanon...that reminded me of Luck by Chance too...the fake fling for publicity?
I liked him a lot in PK though he had a small role, loved his pairing with Anushka.
