Kabir Khan denies approaching Deepika Padukone with his next film starring Salman Khan

National Award director Kabir Khan has rubbished the rumour about Deepika Padukone being a part of his next directorial, 'Tubelight.'

While rumours are rife that 30-year-old actress quitting the film because of not having good enough role, Kabir told ANI that he had never even spoken to Deepika about the film.

"I have never spoken to Deepika about the film. The earlier news that Deepika is going to be a part of the film was a rumour, still it spread like a fire. So, naturally, the news that she isn't doing the film does not surprise me, because I didn't even discuss it with her," said the Bajrangi Bhaijaan director.

He continued, "For now, just Salman Khan is the only lead of the film. We are still not sure who will become the female lead, but once we decide upon it, we will surely break the news."

Kabir added that he is excited about his film Tubelight, as it is a territory that he and Salman have not ventured yet.

Kabir Khan was in the national capital to receive National Award for Bajrangi Bhaijaan under the category of Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

If these rumours were spread by DP's PR then epic fail. They are causing her more harm than good...hope she has the sense to realise that and shut it down.

There was this guy at school. He was in love with the top ranker and most intelligent girl in school. She obviously had better things to do and rejected him when he proposed to her. His ego was hurt but he went around telling everyone that he never cared for her or loved her so these rumours are baseless. And then everyone blamed the innocent girl whose only fault was that she was too good 😒

Moral of the story- Am not sure 😆

If it is true, i have never seen a more shameless PR. Its one thing to spread false news of being approached for a biggie, but it is completely different thing to pretend to reject a biggie by stating the role was not good enough!
It is important for her to stay in news, we get it. But so shamelessly!! Grow up Deepu! No wonder her PR is so ruthlessly ripped apart here.

All celebrity PRs spread around fake news to make their celebrity look good. What's new?

Btw, directors and actors also lie when they get rejected because they are too high and mighty to accept that someone might have said no to them. Most don't even accept that they have approached anyone unless it actually works out.

Every side plays their own game and in the end it doesn't matter because all publicity is good publicity.

But why is that always DP and her PR wrong? Could it not be that Kabir is lying? I don't know why Kabir is so much worshipped here. Maybe DP rejected the movie and it hurt his ego so now he rejects approaching DP. Lol

^That's just as possible. Every side is capable of lying and every side has an ego so they don't like admitting that someone might have rejected them.

It's really weird that so many people on this forum act like insiders who know every single thing going on and whose PR does what and who's responsible. It's very silly. If Deepika is capable of lying, so is Kabir and vice versa.
