Sadly, nowadays it is all about 'exclusives', sensationalizing, 'breaking news' and what not. Humanity is no where in the picture. As Shahrukh aptly said in his recent interviews, media doesn't allow us even 40 seconds to grieve before jumping on to the next aspect of it. Can't even have imagined how the family would have felt. Disgusting and heartbreaking!

Bigg Boss out of the house and on the streets of Mumbai's TV land
Pratyusha Banerjee's tragic death triggers a feeding frenzy as all sorts of 'friends' gather to spill dark secrets and get their 15 minutes of fame.

In the 72 hours since the death of popular television actress Pratyusha Banerjee, there have been at least three press conferences organized by the increasingly bizarre denizens of Mumbai's TV world, each spinning out sensational narratives, which have little bearing on the reality.

From Dolly Bindra, who stole into Pratyusha's Kandivali home when her body was still to be brought down, and covertly videotaped the scene, to a host of others who turned the young actress's tragic death into a sordid celebrity circus.

The first 'media invite' came from actors Jay Bhanushali, Kamya Punjabi, Leena Dias, Shashank Vyas and Adaa Khan claiming to decode 'Pratyusha's Death Mystery'. Celebrity lawyer Falguni Brahmbhatt joined in.

Leading that conference was Pratyusha's rumoured ex, TV producer Vikas Gupta who took centre stage dressed in a Superman Tee and coordinated white-red shoes. Gupta immediately got down to the task at hand; pointing fingers at Pratyusha's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. "There is evidence that Rahul physically assaulted Pratyusha, many people know this. The relationship had begun to disturb her," he snarled as if auditioning for a Balaji TV show. Of course, there was no 'evidence' that he could produce.

The speed at which Vikas hurled allegations at Rahul was only rivalled by his and Pratyusha's close friend actress Kamya Punjabi's smoke breaks. "Rahul slapped Partyusha at a party, twice. There were marks on her neck and nose," she announced dramatically when her turn came to speak up.

Minutes before that the 'friends' had stopped Rahul's former business partner Sheetal Malviya and actress Heer Patel from coming on to the dais saying, "It didn't make sense as they were not as popular as the others."

Earlier in the day, a Marathi starlet who visited the hospital where Pratyusha's body was taken, and where all the TV cameras had congregated had come out screaming and crying and even fainted. She was scooped up by her supposed boyfriend, all under the gaze of the camera.

Her histrionics were nearly matched by Rakhi Sawant, who registered her presence dressed in pink shoes and matching headphones, which she kept on for some reason and a flashy, fake Gucci tee. Sawant, who like Pratyusha was also a Bigg Boss contestant, pushed her way through the crowds for a dekko of the body. She began to fight her way by screaming, "Let me go in, let me go to her, I am in shaawwk... shawwk!"

At both Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital as also at Pratyusha's home, actress Sara Khan, Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan came with their hair and make up staff, making sure they got a quick touch up before going in front of the media. The TRPraking tactics gained momentum with wedding planner-socialite Leena Dias, who claims to be Pratyusha's 'closest' friend, who told everyone that Rahul's ex-girlfriend Saloni Sharma was the primary cause for her misery. "Pratyusha had called me one night before her death and confided that Saloni used to trouble her," Leena revealed. 'Superman' Vikas was quick to chime in, "Saloni had tortured Pratyusha and Rahul never took any action."

It's worth noting here that Dias had curiously cropped Pratyusha out of a string of pictures from a Holi bash, while Gupta had not spoken to the deceased actress in the three months prior to her death. He had offered her a role in one of his shows, which she had twice turned down.

Not to be outdone by the scream queens and 'Superman', another Bigg Boss loser, Ajaz Khan, managed to get the cameras on him by proclaiming authoritatively at the funeral, "This is murder. We have to get to the bottom of this."

Vikas was quick to pick up this line of thought, reiterating, "The cause of the marks on her body was Rahul. We have the evidence. If police are saying he is not involved then they are wrong. If the cops cannot handle this, then the crime branch will take care of it," before continuing in the same vein, "We saw Rahul eating chips." No doubt, that's evidence of a sinister act.

Designer friend Rohit Verma, who designs to turn up wherever the cameras are, said, "I had suggested a coral and gold dress for Pratyusha's wedding scheduled in Jamshedpur next month." He teared up as he revealed this momentous information and quickly regained poise by sipping on his double latte.

'Superman' Vikas wasn't done yet, "If Pratyusha had been pregnant, she wouldn't have died. She always wanted to be pregnant. But there is no pregnancy. Pratyusha had contacted a lawyer for a legal case against Rahul 10 days ago. There is a strong reason behind her suicide and whoever is behind this we will get them. We want justice," he thundered.

When asked if the 'We hate Rahul' brigade had officially registered their statements with the police, Leena told the media, "The police has not called any of us, but we want to give our statements."

Given all the eyeballs these press conferences garnered, another set of Pratyusha's 'friends' called a press conference at an upscale resto-bar at Andheri on Monday. Rakhi Sawant has also called the press to Oshiwara Police Station at 1 pm on Tuesday to share 'important documents' and has promised to reveal many 'secrets'. We can't wait!

O ho! The irony.

Doesn't that Sanyukta woman bug celebs' commodes as well (With the help of her partner in crime Raju Sellar)? Or imagines what's happening inside celeb toilets.. weed ki 2 puff lekar.

Funny thing is people on Twitter are praising that woman for writing this.

I so agree...its really disgusting to see media to make such a joke of someone's loss. And equally to be blamed with these media people are the cheap publicity hungry TV celebs 🤢 The way Rakhi sawant, Dolly Bindra etc leaked the pictures, personal details of Pratyusha's death, its disgusting. I have followed Pratyusha since Balika days as I was an ardent Anandi-Shiv fan and I can bet I never saw her with the likes of Rakhi or dolly. She was very close to her friends from BV, Smita Bansal, Neha Marda, Shashank Vyas, Siddharth Shukla and no of them tried to take a centre stage. But some people can do anything for publicity and the media just takes benefit of the situation. Even the speculation of a uterine infection was sold in dailies with the heading..."Pratyusha was 2 months pregnant"...🤢
Someone really needs to curb these heartless shameless assholes...they are the reason even a positive intelligent society becomes a herd of confused indecisive chaps.

Its my observation that media when it comes to celebrities they start the circus themselves initially for their own benefits. Like the Bachchans started the circus around Ash's marriage and Aaradhya's birth so they were hounded even later on when they didnt want to be hounded. When SRK and Aamir had their third/fourth child they were left alone. You might argue they went for surrogacy which is easier to keep a secret but still hoopla was very less compared to Bachchan grandchild.
About Pratyusha its not fair to speak ill of the dead but for whatever reason her life was a circus especially after she left her show and got into reality shows. I dont follow TV actors but even I used to at times come across her shenanigans with her boyfriends and friends. Knowingly or unknowingly her life was quiet a media circus. Maybe she wasnt responsible...I dont know!
Its no surprise today with the friends she cultivated during her life..her death has become one big drama. Maybe parents are paying the price for what they didnt do..that is right but someone started it and it was Pratyusha herself. The same media would have moved away to something else if they hadnt received juicy gossip from these friends. Media is like those hyenas which will go wherever there is something to scavenge. Keep your surroundings clean and they will return disappointed.

This article is written in Mumbai Mirror is sponsored by someone close to Rahul. With the friends titled 'we hate Rahul brigade' and Rahul and Pratushya's pic inserted to give 'reminder' of 'happier times'. Done in a very subtle way.

Now that we have an article on the antics of the actors, can we have an article on the 'innocent, supportive, hardworking' boyfriend Rahul???

i dont think that is what Vikas was trying to do... The press conference was held to refute rahul's claims of financial instability with Pratyusha and that she was in any sort of debt.. They wanted to clarify all the rumors that were circling about her death including pregnancy and that she was in debt... They condemned what Dolly did and also urged the police to take thier statements, something the police wasnot doing despitr repeated attempts.. I actually found the PC to be handled rather well

The young actor's words will make people think and introspect!

It has been three days since the unfortunate news of Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee committing suicide shook everyone. One of the few people who knew right from the start of her career in tinsel-town is actor Shashank Vyas. They were co-stars in Balika Vadhu, where he was famous as Jagya. Baffled, hurt and saddened by the media circus and to some extent, the celebrity tamasha around her death, Shashank opened up to BollywoodLife. Here is what the actor has to say, "I have hardly slept for 3-4 hours in the last three days. This incident has shaken me so deeply. I have not had time to watch a lot of TV but I have been seeing media segments where reporters have compared Pratyusha's case with that of Jiah Khan, Nafisa Ali, Silk Smitha and Parveen Babi. Suicides happen outside the glamour industry as well. Why there is no extensive reporting? Just because actors are public figures and their lives ignite curiosity, segments are churned out to grab eyeballs. There are millions of suicides outside this profession. I am also against the small-town' stereotype that is being highlighted across the media. People are demeaning the industry and people from India's smaller cities who have big aspirations. When a small-town boy or girl achieves something people say, small town big dreams, youngsters and so hard-working, focused and blah blah. I am surprised to see shows where people are calling showbiz as Andhakar Ki Duniya' and Bitter Reality' and so on. How one handles success or failure depends on the individual? It is moulded by one's family, parenting, schooling, etc. And when one stereotypes, does it mean that young people from Tier I and II cities should stop pursuing their dreams. Acting is a craft. It is a great responsibility. Of course, there is pressure. But everyone is aware of it. You need a lot of commitment, passion and dedication to survive and flourish here. I am a part of this industry and I am very happy here."

The actor further lashes out against celebrities for their irresponsible behaviour on the first day. "I know her from six years. We worked together for two years. I know her as Pratyusha. Honestly, there were only five to six people who knew her well. There were some who gathered at the hospital as they are "camera - lovers". Once they finished their bytes and got the footage, they left. Purpose was solved, naa. Only a few waited for the dead body. Also, people clicking pictures through hidden cameras, sharing audio clicks of conversations with near and dear ones, saying on video that she was murdered...seriously...there is something called moral accountability. It is my humble request, please think before you speak. I was at the gym when I got the news. Within minutes I got messages from various journos requesting me to say, "Doh Shabdh". Some were apologetic and even wrote that they were embarrassed asking that question. If you feel ashamed then why even cross-question people at that point? How am I supposed to feel after knowing that my friend has ended her life? There is a time for everything. I was appalled to see some celebrities talking about legal angles. How much do you understand law? The police will definitely investigate and it is not going to inform you of all the details and its procedures. Pratyusha was facing financial problems. As far as I know, she was never out of work. I would request people please do not character assassinate someone who is no more. This is the most distressing incident that I have experienced in TV world. I am sad to see there is no unity or sense of ground reality amongst certain people. For those who want to just give bytes and vanish from the scene...it's my humble request...please tamasha mat banao yaar," says the actor.
