I actually found Rani from Queen really, really relatable, especially her transformation. Her core personality stays the same, but she experiences independence and emerges a much more confident person. I went through a similar transformation when I went to college.

But the most relatable aspect for me though, was probably her parents. I still remember the scene when she returns home and her parents are so happy for her. And she asks to be dropped off to her ex-fiancee's house and brushes off her parents concerns and desire to bring along her brother. And surprisingly, her parents don't say anything and just let her be.

It really resonated with me because that sort of a gradual conversion took place with my parents too. From being the over-bearing, over-protective parents who would freak out when I rode the bus and refuse to let me stay out too late, to finally chilling out and recognizing that I'm an independent adult who can make her own decisions about shit. College really changed their perception about me and my life -- just like Rani's trip changed the perspective of her parents.

@Bold Yes very true... I felt the same way about Neerja's parents too, especially her Dad. I saw a lot of my parents in them.😊

The bahadur bachcha scene was so heart warming❤️

Great topic!

Sid from Wake up Sid, because my brother is exactly like Sid & our family situation is pretty much the same. Loving, meek mum & slightly more controlling father. Strangely, my brother also looks like Ranbir (his WUS look)

Ranveer from Dil Dhadakne Do, because I am pretty much like him. The younger, more fun character but at the same time one who's sensible. And my bro's pretty much like Priyanka, always giving in & doing what the family wants. Actually that whole film is very relatable because my family is EXACTLY like that with the whole being rich thing & not having to struggle shoved in our faces all the time. My father's just a little more scarier than Anil Kapoor in that film & my mum's pretty much the same. The only thing different is that we don't have a dog :(

There are little things from other characters in various films that are similar. But I think these two films are the ones I relate to most, because its pretty much my life. And also funnily even though I am a female, I relate more strongly to most male characters onscreen. There's hardly any female character I've very strongly related to.

Yam check out North and South, it has dishy Richard Armitage and also Poldark...both amazing British lovers you can crush on and not to forget do read the Outlander series (my most fave romance series, I haven't had the guts to watch the show though it is quite acclaimed) and yes read Jane Eyre, if you haven't yet cause it is an epic romance too.
