On what basis is Piku a 'female oriented film' ?

I keep hearing that all around the forum. The film may be about Piku and it may be named after her - but it's NOT a female-oriented film! Amitabh was the life and soul of the film AND it was always his and Deepika's film. It was promoted as a Deepika-Amitabh-Irfan film. They are even on the posters!!

Female oriented films are Neerja, Jazba, Mardaani, Kahani, Queen - where there is no significant role for a leading actor and the leading actor tends to be a side kick/unpopular hero.

Amitabh was the soul of Piku and the reason my family went to watch in the theatre twice.. His flawed Hindi accent and low IQ theories, his straight-forwardness and taunts - audience loved, laughed and enjoyed more with Bhaskor than the grumpy-face monotonous Piku at least in my theatre..

The way Deepika threw Piku success bash party and due to 'technical glitch' forgot to invite the main star of the movie, totally made me against her 🤢

I watched that movie today morning for the first time, I only enjoyed Amitabh's part in it and other than that the movie was so damn boring..sorry if I hurt anyone with this lol just my opinion.

Both Amitabh and Deepika ka equal role hai isme.

Even though Amitabh was the best part of the film for me too but I still felt it was a woman centric film because it was all about Piku! It was all about Piku's relationships, whether with her father or her lover!!

IMO Amitabh rose over what was given to him in the script! I don't think it would've made such an impact if some other actor played the part so due credit to Amitabh for that!

She was the main character but Amitabh had an almost equal screen-time.
