MNIK> BB> PK

I am actually in the minority who hated PK.. prefer OMG to it... BB and MNIK are close for me but MNIK had more of emotional impact and not to mention the performances.. everyone was superb

BB and PK came 6 months within each other and years after MNIK .

MNIK came less than 2 months of 3 idiots . There was fever for that film . An not just an entertainer but also very thought provoking. So when 3 idiots blended commerce and art so well and made a gazillion crore . People expected MNIK to also . Sadly it didn't . An partly cause there was such a 3 idiots wave still happening . So maybe that hurt its legacy . Which is shameful cause certain parts of that film were good . ( anything before the hurricane Katrina rip off )

I have not seen MNIK so can't say for sure... But the fact that it's directed by Kjo is one of the reasons? Maybe they don't want to credit kjo of making a movie comparable to someone like hirani..

Very true, I'd have to agree. It's interesting to think that this relatability is perhaps sort of what really solidifies SRK's liking among NRIs. Importance of setting and specificity of theme in filmmaking commerce or audience connect is paramount.

BB is the best movie made after long time in BW we can say after 3I. It had all thing which was liked by all ppl from all age group and got lots of appreciations and outdo both PK and MNIK.

Yes! The scene where Kajol cries holding her son's body could possibly be a nominee among the best scene performance ever by an actress. SRK's role was also more difficult to portray than the protagonists in BB and PK.

@minu_8: The movie was surprisingly sensitive for a Kjo venture and the melodrama in it was comparable to anything that Hirani or Kabir Khan showed in their respective movies. You definitely sense that Kjo brand in the setting and vibe of the movie however...so it may go back to the NRI thing & Kjo being relatively 'unconnectable' for audiences at home...

Rhino brought up an interesting point about success of 3 Idiots and it's possible impact too.
