nice to hear good things abt sonam's acting and this movie.. ..if given a good role she can shut her haters up with her performance...

Actress Sonam Kapoor is overwhelmed with appreciation for her act in "Neerja" , who lost her life while saving others on a hijacked flight. Classmates of the late Neerja have also thanked the actress for bringing her back to life on the silver screen.

The actress was touched by a special message by Bhanot's classmates, and credited director for being the captain of the film. Sonam took to Twitter to share an image of the tribute by one of Bhanot's classmates.

The message read 'Dear Sonam, I wonder if you will get to read this message. Your critics and colleagues will congratulate you for your performance as Neerja and I believe you will win awards and accolades in truck loads for this movie. But to us who were Neerja's classmates in school you did something much much more.'You brought her back to life after nearly 30 years. She is now back amongst us again. And for that on behalf of the Batch 78 Bombay Scottish Aluminii, her friends and family, I thank you. Sanjit Shastri batch of 78 Bombay'.

Sonam replied 'Ram this is all you... Thank you for making me an honorary alumni. I humbly accept this beautiful tribute to Neerja by her pals of bombayscottish class of 78 .This has truly truly moved me.'

"Neerja" tells the story of how Neerja lost her life while saving passengers from terrorists on board hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 in September 1986.

A special screening was organised for the Bombay Scottish School here on Friday. The film also stars Shabana Azmi and Shekhar Ravjiani.

@APKP, Sorry to say but it was you who jumped on the whole fan base and started negative talks about the fan base - just because couple of members/fans were discussing/giving opinion about some critics review and movie getting less stars.

I don't get the fuss when 1/2 reviews are questioned. The movie is critically acclaimed. The odd reviews definitely stand out and as a result will be questioned. Over the last 2 years I never saw anyone questioning the Sonam hate on the forum, in fact most joined in on it, but a review is questioned here and it's "oh those Sonam fans"

Lets not pretend, if Neerja hadn't been critically acclaimed... this review topic would have been flooded with haters having a field day at Neerja's flop status and Sonam Kapoor's bad performance. There would have been multiple topics on the main forum with reviews of Sonam's bad performance and how she is a waste of space and time.

I cried buckets when it was playing 😭 the scene where Neerja ashes and rama ji and brothers n harish ji I cannot imagine what family went thru 😭

Washout films Loveshuda, LoveShagun, IshqForever, DirectIshq released on last Friday n producers have lost approx 60Cr. Worst time 4Bollywd.
I really hope these screens given to Neerja.
Monday :4 Cr on 800 screens 🥳

Bollywood has got 2 hits #Airlif n #Neerja in 2 months of 2016 n 25 flops. What a great result n what a wastage of money.

I absolutely agree with you.
In dkd we had worst.i was so exhausted decided not to come in forum till dkd bashing done. I understand the hatred for any actor or actress but to go this way its a limit. 🥱 u know PC after watching Neerja on Thursday I made a appreciation thread for whole neerja team and title for this is for you Sonam.i praised whole team have given salute to neerja and her family and all team of neerja .my post got thrashed for no reason.its not even merged 🥱 many ppl pmed me for my separate review coz I always the first one to write review being in Dubai.sonam and her bad acting skills and the term non actor anti fans use for her,deliberately targeting her and bringing her in other actress topics.
She is not even taking any credit for Neerja.she's giving credit to team. It's not easy to fit in real character shoes.but she showed her haters she come a long way 👏
