An old couplet went thus: the bigger the better, the tighter the sweater. In a more innocent time, when there was no internet, girlie mags were hard to find, and pre-pubescent imagination was allowed to run riot, just reciting this caused endless giggles and naughty visions. In this day and age, when everything is laid bare (groan, pardon the lousy pun), the question remains: why would three fellows who look older than they should hang their tongues out at a succession of 38 Ds? (Read:Airlift movie review: Akshay Kumar film is well executed and well-acted)

Airlift takes off in style, Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 gets thumbs down from audience, Watch video

The third in the Kya Kool' series faithfully follows the thrust-boob-butt template, as Kanhaiya (Tusshar Kapoor), Rocky (Aftab Shivdasani) and Mickey (Krushna Abishek) make whoopee in Thailand. Oh wait. In keeping with the nature of this flick, I should say peepee. Because that's a word that raises laughs amongst the easy-to-please, as does the old lena', dena', ( a girl is called Marilee, sigh), uski', chuski', and so on. And, oh, also, popat', which means a parrot', and ahem, another word for the male private part. (Akshay Kumar's Airlift and adult comedy Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 clash at box-office

This trio is surrounded by a bunch of leggy women, all of whom look like they've hired for their ample measurements in the upper and lower departments, and ability to show skin. All they are meant to do is to bite their lips, and sigh orgasmically, whenever the plot runs out of steam, which happens so often that you lose count.

Meanwhile, this is what we get: a mouse running up a pant leg and nesting in a delicate body part, a crow sitting on self-same body part, water running down several bosoms, and.. okay, I'm hitting the pause button, because this is a family newspaper/website.

Hold on, though. This film calls itself a sex comedy': I don't know about you, but this business of keeping actors standing in a room in one line just the way they would in a sit com (that's how we know it is an Ekta Kapoor production, apart from Tusshar's constant presence), and tossing juvenile lines amongst themselves, doesn't spell ess-ee-ex to me.

So no sex. And all those limp jokes don't add up to a comedy, either. What it is, is false pretences. Can I please call it a falsie? I know, groan again. Given the previous two flicks, did we really think this would be a bag of laughs? More fool hain hum.

Kya Kool Hain Hum 3' review: No sex or laughs in this adult comedy

SARITA A TANWAR | Fri, 22 Jan 2016-05:03pm , Mumbai , dna

The trailer of the film, when released, had raised a lot of eyebrows due to its adult content.

Film: Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3

Director: Umesh Ghatge

Cast: Aftab Shivdasani, Tusshar Kapoor, Mandana Karimi, Krushna Abhishek

Rating: *1/2

What it's about: Everyone enjoys a sex comedy once in a while provided it has genuine humour and content that's true to the genre. But sadly, Umesh Ghatge's Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 falls short on both counts. The Kyaa Koolbrand, which met with humongous success in its first two versions, lacks punch the third time around. This one's about Rocky (Aftab) and Kanhaiya (Tusshar), two friends who become po*n stars when their pal and po*n filmmaker Mickey (Krushna) invites them to Thailand. Things move forward when Kanhaiya encounters Shalu (Mandana), falls in love with her and even proposes marriage. But Shalu's father (Darshan Jariwala) wants to meet Kanhaiya's family before making it formal. Kanhaiya then turns his po*n colleagues into his new family and how they cope with Shalu's real family forms the rest of the film.

What's hot: There's really very little to talk about in terms of things to look forward to in this film. A few dialogues may perhaps bring on a smile and, to some extent, Krushna's energetic act livens up a scene or two. A large part of the film is a spoof of popular Hindi films rather than the sex comedy that it claims to be.

What's not: The trailer of the film, when released, had raised a lot of eyebrows due to its adult content. However, most of it has either been chopped by the Censor Board or changed in terms of dialogues. The final outcome, therefore, is neither funny nor does it makes sense. Directorially, the film has a substandard look and feel to it, and the performances are over-the-top even for a film of this kind. The gags on mainstream Bollywood hits are stretched so much that they don't evoke any laughter after a point. Each character is loud and irritating- you can't really blame any of the actors for not being able to pull it off. KKHH3 is a classic example of what happens to a film when an inexperienced director handles an amateurish screenplay. It's clear that the focus all along was only on shock value. But that was also chopped. The director has put together the worst ensemble of actors possible (Gizele Thakral, Claudia Ciesla, Andy Kumar and Danny Sura). Perhaps the only time the viewer will genuinely laugh is when Krushna justifies his po*n filmmaking business by saying he sends his profits for the benefit of kids in Somalia.

What to do: There's no sex and no comedy in this one.

Movie Review: Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3

AFTAB SHIVDASANI | BOLLYWOOD | KYA KOOL HAIN HUM 3 | MOVIE REVIEW | TUSSHAR KAPOOR |UMESH GHADGE

Kya Kool Hain Hum 3
(Any opinions expressed here are those of the author and not of Thomson Reuters)

Not that "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 was expected to achieve any form of cinematic brilliance, but what director Umesh Ghadge achieves in the third instalment of one of Bollywood's many sex film franchises is the cinematic equivalent of garbage.

Two out-of-work, aging and irrelevant actors come together, along with the usual suspects that populate such films, and proceed to make wink-wink nudge-nudge jokes for the next two hours.

Tusshar Kapoor and Aftab Shivdasani are friends whose tendency to create double entendres out of the most innocuous words and phrases is rivalled only by their ability to leer at single women on screen. This would not be a problem if the dialogue had been sparkly and witty, as it was in the first two films, if it can be called that.

But right from the known tropes of men dressed as women, to misunderstandings created because of a character's disability (a gag started by Tusshar Kapoor in "Golmaal"), all this has been seen and done a million times over.

There is no story here to speak of, and whatever conflicts and situations the film presents are merely vehicles for its mediocre humour and raunchy song-and-dance numbers. And when you have Tusshar Kapoor dressed in drag and being propositioned by Shakti Kapoor, who plays his father, you know it can't get worse.

And then you remember that "Mastizaade" releases next week.

'Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3': Sex overload (IANS Movie Review, Rating: *)

ilm: "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3"; Directed by: Umesh Ghadge; Cast: Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani, Mandana Karimi, Gizele Thakral, Claudia Ciesla, Krushna Abhishek, Shakti Kapoor and Darshan Jariwala; Rating: *

Two young men who become po*n stars, indulging in various fun activities, but having to adopt a garb of decency, if only to win the heart of a fair maiden. That in essence is the crux of "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3", slated to be India's answer to a sex comedy and catering to the front-benchers.

The film is the third one in the series after "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum" and "Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum".

With Tusshar Kapoor and Aftab Shivdasani in the lead roles, there is a feeling of deja vu. You've seen them do all this in several other films before, with no element of originality in their performances or jokes.

There is almost nothing new in this film, except perhaps the two ladies, Mandana Karimi and Gizele Thakral, and the Bollywood film spoofs that have been generously included.

The jokes are hackneyed and the dialogues lyrical, but tacky, loaded with double entendres.

"Babuji humein nange haathon pakad lenge" and "Aata Maajhi Latakli", are distasteful and not amusing in the least. A few scenes replete with popular Bollywood films like "Sholay", "Kick" and "Chennai Express" being spoofed to fit into the po*n genre, elicit a few chuckles. Equally crass are the visuals which are extremely graphic.

Tusshar Kapoor as the cock-eyed, naive simpleton Kanhaiya, is an eye-sore and brings no freshness to his now favourite style of acting. He desperately needs to experiment with other genres, as he is tedious to watch in such films.

Aftab Shivdasani as his bestie, Rocky, complements Tusshar, but again contributes nothing by way of performance.

Krushna as Mickey, with his impeccable comic timing cannot really uplift a bad film. He is an extension of his television persona.

The girls are nothing but the glamour dolls they are meant to be and blatantly indulge in skin show.

Shakti Kapoor and Darshan Jariwala have nothing much to offer as actors either.

Even the music with songs like "Jawaani le doobi" and "Oh boy" do nothing to propel the narration or lift the viewing experience.

The film seems to be an extension of Ekta Kapoor's TV soaps with her sensibilities replete in every scene. It's almost an attempt in finding sense in the senseless and humour in a humour-less film.

Director Umesh Ghadge handles the film amateurishly, like a badly made music video on the big screen.

Watch "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3" if you want to witness the deplorable standards in Indian cinema.

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 Review

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 Movie Poster

Rating: 1.5/5 Stars (One and half stars)

Star Cast: Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani, Krishna Abhishek, Mandana Karimi, Darshan Jariwala, Gizele Thakral, Claudia Ciesla, Shakti Kapoor, Meghna Naidu, Gauhar Khan, VJ Andy

Director: Umesh Ghadge

What's Good: Practically nothing!

What's Bad: A shady script, shoddy acting and a pathetically crafted screenplay.

Loo Break: Yes, Yes & Yes!

Watch or Not?: I'd say no unless you actually enjoy sex comedies. The film is quite cliched when it comes to the story.

Kanhaiya (Tusshar Kapoor) is apparently a sanskari' guy. He is even seen praying to God asking for true love. After accidentally messing up with his work, Kanhaiya is fired by his dad from their company. A frustrated Kanhaiya meets his best friend Rocky (Aftab Shivdasani) to discuss his problems. Just when things are at their lowest for the two, they get a call from their old friend Mickey (Krushna Abhsihek) who offers them a special job in Bangkok.

Mickey is a po*n film producer in Bangkok and soon casts his friends in spoof films of Bollywood like Kholay' instead of Sholay. Soon, Kanhaiya's wish of falling in love comes true when he crosses Shalu (Mandana Karimi) at a mall. It is a case of love at first sight and after wooing with a song, Shalu agrees to marry him. In order to gain Shalu's father's approval for the marriage, he has to make them meet his sanskari' family. Thus what happens when po*n stars portray the roles of a Sooraj Barjatya film family? Well, chaos obviously!

Will Shalu and Kanhaiya get married even after his actual profession is revealed?

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 Review: Script Analysis

After the first two parts, what different could one expect from the third part of Kyaa Kool Hai Hum? If only Indian filmmakers could understand how to make a sex comedy without making it filled with cheesy dialogues being hurled at the audiences consecutively. As always the concentration on building a story is at its least but the focus naturally remains on the sexual innuendos forcibly weaved in the plot.

More than half of the film's script is a spoof of Bollywood's famous films and their dialogues and while some are funny, the rest sound extremely cheap.

Since it is a sex comedy, dialogues such as Bangkok jaakar handjob dena' come very often. The funniest part is how the writers use their cinematic liberties so vividly that according to them, po*n stars do not have a life beyond sex and well, they are always turned on.

In one of the scenes, Tusshar's character proudly says, Har ladki sex object nai hoti' which indirectly means some are. Well, it is disgusting to even write such a line because it should actually be like Koi bhi ladki sex object nahi hoti'.

Since it is a sex comedy, you are expected to just forget about any kind of detailing in the film. The characters need no background, least of all a female character. Mandana's character basically had no script, I believe she just turned up on sets as though it is a photoshoot.

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 Review: Star Performance

Tusshar Kapoor seems to have become the face of sex comedies. But unfortunately he is not a treat to watch no matter what he does. His melodramatic act is beyond unbearable in this film.

Aftab Shivdasani makes a comeback for no reason. His acting in the film looks so amateurish that one may have thought it is his first film. Other than giving the perfect desperado' expressions, he doesn't do much.

Krushna Abhishek is the actual hero of the film. His comic timing is obviously brilliant and his act of the po*n producer is superb.

Coming to the ladies, Mandana Karimi, Gisele Thakral, Claudia Ciesla and Meghna Naidu, they all do only one thing - expose. Instead of dialogues, they heave (all the time!).

Shakti Kapoor and Darshan Jariwala form the supporting cast of the film. Nothing great coming from them.

Riteish Deshmukh's cameo in the film is a funny one to catch!

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 Review: Music, Direction

Other than a script that is already shoddy, the film's screenplay too has many problems. Director Umesh Ghadge seemed to have his focus only on the execution part and hence to compliment with the cheap dialogues, you will see an even cheaper representation of women. I wonder why directors think sex comedies are just for men to lust over a bunch of models ready to shed their clothes at the drop of a hat. Why can't the women audiences who will watch the film get a hot bod hero they can swoon over when he takes his shirt off. Sadly, they are forced to see Tusshar and Aftab and even VJ Andy.

The songs of the film may have become popular but they are extremely ill-placed in the film. Scenes just abruptly finish and songs begin with settings having no connect to the earlier scenes.

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 Review: The Last Word

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 is a sex comedy that is typically Bollywood - it objectifies women, has no plot as such and has Tusshar Kapoor in the lead. I am going with 1.5/5 for the film.

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 Opens Well In Mass Centres
Friday 22 January 2015 12.30 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

Kyaa Kool has opened well in mass centres with a opening of 30-35% despite competition from a big film like Airlift. The film is running neck to neck with the Airlift in mass centres in practically all the circuits. The opening in the big multiplexes of North india is less as a star makes a big difference there and Akshay Kumar has a strong market in the North. As there is huge preference of these multiplexes in North the big gap in collections of both films may come here.

The film will do its best business in Mumbai and CPCI circuits. The last film of this brand Kyaa Super Kool Hain hum had recorded a 6.75 crore nett day one and despite it not being a solo release with a bigger film for competition, the opening numbers suggest it should surpass that film.

It is the opposite of Airlift for Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 as its more about holding the collections rather than growing to pull through. Growth would be a big plus though but it is tough with genre as families on the weekend tend to keep away from these type of films.

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3
By Bollywood Hungama News Network, 22 Jan 2016, 14:56 hrs IST
Rating: 1.5/5 |

The year 2005 witnessed a 'r-evolution' in Bollywood in the form of KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM, a film that had slapstick sex comedy in its 'raw form'. This was followed up in 2012 with its 'new and improved' version in the form of KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM. And, now, in 2016, the audiences are being treated with an 'upgraded' version of the franchise in the form of KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM 3, which is also touted to be India's first ever 'po*n-Com'. Will the third instalment of film will be more 'kool' than its 'superkool' predecessors, let's analyse.

The film starts off with the basic introduction of best buddies Rocky (Aftab Shivdasani) and Kanhaiya (Tusshar Kapoor), who have, so far, done everything together. Kanhaiya apparently suffers from a colour disorder, because of which every time he sees the colour red, he becomes 'squint-eyed' or as the makers put it... 'cock-eyed' (no pun intended there!). Due to their constant goof ups, the two end up broke and homeless. However, a ray of hope comes to them in the form of their long lost friend Mickey (Krishna Abhishek) who is based in Bangkok. Mickey invites Rocky and Kanhaiya to Bangkok to try their hand at making a living there. However, what Mickey refrains from telling them is that he makes po*n films for a living, along with his regular set of actors in the form of Sakku (Gizele Thakral), Mary Lee (Claudia Ciesla), Sushil (Andy Kumar) and his colleague played by Danny Sura. Though Rocky and Kanhaiya are initially reluctant to work as po*n stars, the lure for money convinces them to agree to be a part of Mickey's po*n star group. All goes well till the time Kanhaiya falls head over heels in love with Shalu (Mandana Karimi). In order to impress her, he always is willing to walk that extra mile. But when Shalu tells Kanhaiya that her father Surya Karjatya (Darshan Jariwala) wants to see him and his family for their marriage, Kanhaiya, left with no choice, tells the 'po*n stars' group to disguise themselves as his traditional 'sanskari' family. What follows is a comedy of errors, mistaken identities and chaos... all of this leading to a topsy-turvy situation. Will Shalu's father discover the reality of Kanhaiya, what happens to the duo of Rocky and Kanhaiya in the end, does Mickey help Rocky and Kanhaiya in getting out of the situation that has been created by him... is what forms the rest of the film.

The film's director Umesh Ghadge, who had earlier directed a Marathi film WELCOME ZINDAGI and had even assisted David Dhawan on films like MAIN TERA HERO, CHASHME BADDOOR and PARTNER, makes his Bollywood directorial debut with KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM 3 (KKHH 3). Said to be India's first ever 'po*n-com' the first half of the film lives up to its adage and decently plays along with the franchise theme of being a sex comedy. However, come the second half of the film, Ghadge seems lost and directionless with the entire film appearing to be comic scenes stitched together to make a full length feature film, turning what could have been an entertaining slap stick comedy into a pure disaster. Replete with negative aspects, KKHH3 hinges on a wafer thin plot, and relies largely on jokes and gags. Overall, with outrageous lines and scandalous visuals which appear funny at times but cheap in the overall perspective, the film is nothing but an assimilation of funny and not so funny scenes stitched together which does not create the desired impact. Filled with sexual innuendoes, adult jokes and impish humour that seems forced in the narrative, KKHH 3 turns into a serious letdown with the blame solely on the director Umesh Ghadge and its shabby writing cum vacuous screenplay by writers Mushtaq Sheikh and Milap Zaveri. Though there are instances where you feel like Umesh has somehow managed (read 'struggled') to maintain the film's proceedings, they are few and are limited to the first half of the film. In fact the only scenes which leave an impact are the funny takes on Bollywood films like KICK, ROCKSTAR, SINGHAM, EK VILLAIN, SHOLAY, CHENNAI EXPRESS... to name a few.

While the music (Sajid-Wajid) of the film is nothing to write about, it remains an average fair with the track 'Aaj House Party Hai' being the only song that leaves an impression of sorts. The background score (Raju Singh) does help lift a few moments but is not enough. The unmemorable music coupled with a bad script by Mushtaq Sheikh and Milap Zaveri, compounded with bad direction destroys the otherwise success franchise. Even dialogues by Milap are a letdown. The editing (Nitin Rokade), cinematography (Manoj Soni) and sound (Parikshit Lalwani, Kunal Mehta) are average. At many places, there have been audio replacements made from what was seen in promo, which adds to the list of spoilsports in the film.

As for the performances, the film that should have clearly belonged to its protagonists Aftab Shivdasani and Tusshar Kapoor, lands up being a no man's film. The camaraderie between Aftab Shivdasani and Tusshar Kapoor seems forcibly funny and comical. The sad part is that while Tusshar and Aftab are decent they are more often than not left out in the cold with a weak script. Krishna is good but underused; with a lack of dialogues his role is rather minimal. The scene that sees him justifying the reason he creates dirty movies to support Somalian kids is difficult to comprehend and evokes pity on the script writer. As for the heroines who should have ideally shown their acting talent, land up showing only skin. Mandana who could have had a more meaningful role has little to do except looking hot, while the other two actresses, Gizele Thakral and Claudia Ciesla, have little else to do but titillate the audience. If that wasn't enough the inclusion of Shakti Kapoor and the others in the cast seems to have no objective but to add to the confusion. Even a cameo by Riteish Deshmukh doesn't help the film from being a self-constructed 'Satyanaash'. With the viewer getting fidgety despite the barrage of jokes continuing non-stop, a large section of its target audience will spurn and snub this movie. What remains a mystery and a big question to everyone is, 'How did the makers of the film approve such a script in the first place?'

On the whole, KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM 3 suffers from a weak script and vacuous screenplay which will be a huge turnoff even for its target audience. The masses will be disappointed and box office prospects will also be a grim disappointment for the makers after the initial hysteria subsides.

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 First Day Business
Saturday 23 January 2015 13.30 IST
Box Office India Trade Network
4

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 grossed 6.50-6.75 crore nett apprx on day one which is similar to the collections of the last Kyaa Kool Hain Hum film released in 2012. The film opened well in mass centres but did not go through the day as the opening morning numbers suggested a higher number.

The number is still decent for its costs but it becomes about the trend now when normally these type of films tend to do well initially due to no support of family audiences. The multiplexes can improve today mainly because the film has recorded lo collections on day one.

The film was best in Mumbai with 2 crore nett plus followed by CP Berar at 45 lakhs and East Punjab at 70 lakhs nett. Delhi/UP was 1.25 crore nett. The contributions were weak down South.

Watched it today. Don't ask me why.
Pathetic attempt to create a comedy movie. Seriously 1.5 stars which reviewers are giving is pretty damn generous.

There were a group of 8-10 college students sitting behind us. They seemed extremely excited when the movie started. Passing comments, making sounds, etc. Within 15mins even they got bored.

The movie starts like Dostana. Its implied aftab slept with 3-4 different women in one night, all foreigners. In reality I don't think aftab can even pick up a chick in nightclub. Tushar is shown that seedha sadha guy.

Both aftab and tushar annoys the hell out of you in the whole movie. Tushar's red color joke makes no sense and contributes nothing to the story or laugh factor.

First half is po*n parody of all hit films. I don't know who wrote the parody because not one single scene is funny. They tried too hard to make double meaning jokes but every single one fell flat. No one was laughing in the theaters.

Second half is pathetic attempt to copy housefull. The major difference is in housefull every character had something to do and contribute but here only 2-3 characters are doing something. Rest everybody is just present.

Tushar and mandana's angle made no sense. They go on a date and next scene he is proposing her. They didn't even show the first date.

This director needs to go. He has no idea what he is doing. He is not funny and purely irritating.

Tushar and aftab are simply horrible. Aftab's career is over. These are the only kind of roles he will get. Ritesh's cameo is pretty bad as well. He makes 0 impact.

They say its a po*n comedy, but neither there is any po*n or comedy. Its just showing the girls in bikinis which we see in every other wannabe movies.

I never thought they could make something worse than grand masti. But well they made this and proved me wrong.
