Ever since the ' Delhi shaming" where a girl allegedly took on a eve teaser and getting wide appreciations for her daring act only for that applause to turn into shock and jeer when the truth turned out otherwise ... well.. nowadays... I would wait for full picture read to know both sides before jumping the gun...

Yep possible. Happened in my friends building. A widow falsely accused the grocer nearby when he refused to give her anymore credit. She paid for the items and told him to deliver it to her house. When he came she created a scene how inappropriately he touched her. Police were called.

However, everybody in the building knew the nature of this lady and the grocer was a respectable man. So they all smelled foul play and under little police pressure she confessed that she lied. Nothing happened to the lady but the grocer could have been behind bars.
