Shah Rukh Khan disappointed with Dilwale's box office performance

Dilwale was released ahead of the festive season on December 18. The romantic comedy had marked the return of SRK-Kajol pairing after a long time.

As Dilwale has failed to create a big mark at the box office dampening expectation arising out of the return of his pairing with Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan on Monday admitted his disappointment.

"I don't think the film has done as well as it should have. I am personally disappointed with that," Shah Rukh told reporters.

"To be honest, it has perhaps not done as well in India as I would like it to do. But overseas it has done very well in a lot of countries like Germany, Austria. It is quite thrilling that Indian films are reaching far and wide. There is a lot of business opportunities," Khan said adding that he did not have the exact numbers.

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Rohit Shetty Productions, the film has so far crossed the Rs 350 crore mark at the box office.

I personally enjoyed nd really like Srkajol parts from DW.. RS is no Kjo to handle a story like Kjo did it in K3g with 3 classic couples.. i will say its more of coz RS Film style tht ppl were dissapointed coz they were expecting including me YRF or Kjo product.

hes disappointed with the indian box office performance not overall. the movie made 200+ crore overseas.
theres this saying dont remember it clearly but it goes something like this.
Its always our own that lets us down and the outsiders or strangers that helps us and picks us up again.
quite fitting for this scenario. and im not talking about the box office figures.

Weird how everyone saw this coming except Shahrukh, "the great businessman." 😕 As a fan, I'm more than happy this film did shitty business. Let this be a lesson learnt.

"It has done quite well in Austria, Germany". - How much did the film collect over there? He is still not having the proper reality check.

His decision of not commenting on political issues is a good choice. An artist can be an activist. But a businessman should safeguard his self interest and remain politically neutral (Example: Dhirubhai Ambani). SRK is not only an actor, but also a producer. He needs to be cautious, we Indians are emotional (for the same reason, these men are worshipped like Gods. You can't have it only one way).

But he does not seem to accept the major reason for failure. His remarks might have caused 5 to 10 crores dent in the net connection. But the movie made at least 50 crore less. He is still not facing the truth (or pretending not to have seen it).

me too...i love the SRKajol parts...it was beautiful and magical...even after 22 yrs their chemistry is still magical and natural...😳...overall love the film for SRKajol and the songs...

SRKajol needs to comeback in a mature love story and the story should revolve around them only...the problem with DW is the screen focus was more on other stuff than SRKajol...since romance is not the forte of RS style of films...he could not understand that SRKajol are not the normal jodis of BW...its SRKajol...the most romantic iconic jodi of indian cinema...they are tag as "most romantic jodi"...there are a legendary pair of BW...there is a legacy in their pairing for 22 long glorious years...he failed to understand that when its SRKajol...he should only focus on them...not on other pointless stuff...the screenspace and interaction b/w SRKajol in the film was too little...the audience wants to see SRKajol in the same frame...not beautiful locations..lame comedies...more focus on the other couples...unwanted characters eating up the screenspace...

if the film worked and attain the semi hit tag in domestic premises...its becos of SRKajol...and the entire world...they loved it and its worldwide BB...

i liked the film...but my complaints is less interaction b/w SRKajol in the 2nd half and unwanted characters eating up the screenspace when RS could have shown some romance and passion of SRKajol in their love-hate relationship in 2nd half...

So what does he say here?

That he's disappointed by film's performance?

That film has done well overseas?

that he won't comment on political/social issues...All safe & genuine statements in REAL world but no SIR! that won't stop the seemingly smart mouths from swarming this place w/ wisecracks..!
