Exactly...why would they keep Aamir as the face of India when he is hurting India's image by his absurd statements...

Amitabh anyway is better choice than Aamir...

Has a great image(CURRENTLY) and more reach, will do great for tourism...

Good step by Govt.

There are lots of people out there who are eligible for this post. But AB Sr. is not deserving too. The memory of 1984 is still fresh amongst many. They should have put someone with less scandalous profile.

It remains to be seen how this partnership works ! 👍🏼

His contract expired and they chose not to renew, people here are creating such a big and hue and cry as though his contract was abruptly terminated

And its not like they replaced Aamir with someone unworthy of being India's brand ambassador.

P.S. All political parties play favourites, even Congress has done it before by excluding AB Sr on several occasions.

contract has expired n i see no harm in him
being nt repeated ..
amir is lately too much of a preacher n a man
who hardly practices what he preaches..so
good riddance i will say..

as for AB sr he is another undeserving face..
what abt Bofors scandal UP farming land scandal
big b n his family farmers 😆
or may be the Gov want to say come let us all steal n
make India shining hum saath saath hai 😆

If you say that your family is scared to live in India then how credible are you? So no surprises there. Aamir Khan is just not good with words. But why always movie stars? Why can't people from other fields be face of Incredible India?

Has Amitabh been confirmed? I hope they take Irfan instead, he represents the common, balanced Indian better than anyone else. Also, he is a known face in the west.

On topic, when you are a brand ambassador you cannot mock, criticise the brand publicly. If you have reservations about the brand, express it privately. The decision to not renew his contract is the right one.

Speaking of BJP's favouritism towards certain actors lets not forget that Congress has done far worse. The Gandhis have always known to have close friendship with certain leading actor(s) from bollywood.
