Shah Rukh Khan Upping His Game In 2016

After delivering three masala commercial films like Chennai Express (2013), Happy New Year (2014) and Dilwale (2015), Shah Rukh Khan seems to be going back to his roots of working with talented directors with fresh story-lines. For fans of the actor who have been frustrated by his recent lackluster and uninspired choice of movies, 2016 has brought some happy smiles for them. All this can be evidenced by his next 5 movies and their directors. The next 5 directors he's chosen to work with are directors who have never worked with the Superstar. When was the last time we could say that about Shah Rukh Khan or any other Bollywood Superstar?

While official confirmation about SRK being in Imtiaz's next hasn't been released yet, SRK has spoken about Imtiaz's next quite a few times recently. Imtiaz can be blamed for making his films more difficult to understand than they need to be, but the spirituality in his movies cannot be debated. He makes films from the soul which don't always go on to be universal hits (Tamasha, Highway and Rockstar being recent examples) but the way he shoots and edits his movies is always exemplary. We're hoping Imtiaz makes an easy to understand film Ala Jab We Met when he eventually teams up with Shah Rukh Khan.

Shimit Amin's Next (Rumoured)

Shimit Amin is easily one of the most heralded directors of Bollywood in the new millenium and it's a shame that he has only directed three movies (Ab Tak Chappan, Chak De India and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year). Shah Rukh Khan delivered arguably his life's best performance as Kabir Khan in Chak De India, and it will be a delight to see Shimit return to direction with Shah Rukh Khan. And, there are rumours that this movie might even star Ranbir Kapoor. A Shimit Amin film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor? We need a chair to sit down!
