Dilwale Set To Step In Top-15 All Time Grossers

Dilwale may not have scored massively but it still managed to add on more moolah to its tally. With no new releases over the weekend and the New Year weekend, the film did bring in around 9 crore more. These are fair collections for the film which hasn't quite been supported by good reviews or stupendous word of mouth. Still, its current total reads around 144 crore, which is more than just decent.

The next aim for the film is to beat the lifetime collections of Salman Khan's Bodyguard (149 crore), which it would manage eventually. However, it would be touch and go to beat the collections of Tanu Weds Manu Returns (152 crore) in order to occupy the position of fourth highest grosser of 2015 after Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajirao Mastani.

At the end of the run, Dilwale would most definitely stand at No. 15 of Top-15 grossers of all time, though it would be at No. 14 if it beats Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

Dilwale 17th Day Collection: Dilwale had a low but stable 3rd weekend at the domestic Box Office, collected 3.3 crores on its 3rd Sunday.

Rohit Shetty's Dilwale remained stable throughout its third weekend at the domestic Box Office. The movie witnessed a meager growth on 3rd Friday and collected 3.3 crores. After a decent 15th day, the movie remained stable and collected 2.35 crores and 3.3 crores on its 16th and 17th day respectively.

The movie is consistently collecting in the range of 2.5 crores to 3.5 crores for the last seven days. At the end of 17 days, Dilwale has a total collection of 146.53 crores. Considering the current trend, we can expect the movie to beat Tanu Weds Manu Returns lifetime collection of 152 crores. The movie is likely to end its Box Office journey as the 4th highest grosser of 2015 after Bajrangi Bhaijaan (320 crores), Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (208 crores) and Bajirao Mastani (160.70 crores).

Dilwale Box Office Collection: Highlights

Dilwale 1st Day Collection: 21 crores (2nd highest of 2015)
Dilwale 1st weekend collection: 65.09 crores (7th Highest of 2015)
Dilwale 1st week collection: 102.65 crores (4th highest of 2015)
Dilwale 2nd Weekend Collection: 21.23 crores
Dilwale 2nd week Collection: 31.63 crores
Dilwale 17th day collection: 3.3 crores
Dilwale 2nd weekend collection: 8.95 crores
Dilwale total collection: 146.53 crores

Considering the current trend, we expect Dilwale to remain low and stable on box office in upcoming days. The movie should end up with the lifetime collection of around 153 crores.

Dilwale has been quite consistent but the problem is that the movie wasn't able to take advantage of Christmas and New Year Holidays. The movie was affected by bans and protests in different parts of the country during the early days of its releases. These bans and protests have affected the movie's collection by at least 15 crores. Moreover, the clash with Bajirao Mastani has also severely affected the movie. If released without clash and protests, Dilwale would have easily crossed 200 crores on Domestic Box Office.

Dilwale may have underperformed at the domestic Box Office but the movie is performing exceptionally well in overseas. Dilwale has already grossed 300 crores at worldwide Box Office. The movie is one of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters in overseas. Dilwale is all set to beat My Name Is Khan to become SRK's highest grosser in overseas.

Despite its average performance, Dilwale is in the safe zone because of Red Chillies' marketing and distribution plan. The movie has already recovered its budget of 130 croresthrough satellite and music rights. As the movie has recovered its budget, it will be a profitable venture for its producers but the distributors have to incur losses.

Final Verdict: Semi Hit in Domestic, ATBB in overseas. We will shortly update the final profit/loss analysis and Box Office verdict of Dilwale. So, stay tuned to Blog to Bollywood.

Wrong information on Budget but this is one article actually used the word stable for the movie and I liked it as its actually stable since God knows how many days.😆

All Time Top 19 Lifetime Overseas Collections, PK On Top, BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN 3rd And DILWALE 7th

Shahrukh Khan has dominated overseas market for decades and his stronghold is still intact. Even if his film scores average or just hit business in India at times, he always attains Blockbuster status overseas and 'Happy New Year' was no different. But it is Aamir Khan who is delivering blockbusters one after another in overseas market.

'PK' collected huge 70 cr overseas over weekend and then went on to collect 108 cr (17.77 million $) in 9 days itself. Film continued its roaring business in 2nd week has crossed 'Kick' and 'Bang Bang' by the end of 2nd weekend and then film went on to cross 200 cr in overseas. After extended release in other overseas market it has crossed 304 cr in overseas which is mind boggling number. Film has collected 4.30 cr in Hong Kong which is too good.

Film is 4th highest grosser ever and by end of the run, it should cross 145 cr and it might emerge as highest grosser ever. Salman Khan starrer proved to be his biggest grosser overseas by some distance and collected 13.3 million $ (87 cr) in 8 days followed by 18 million $ in 10 days and 29 million $ (193.39 cr) which places it 3rd best in all time table. Salman Khan starrer PRDP collected 14 million $ which is 8th best of all time. Shahrukh Khan starrer 'Dilwale' collected 16.75 million $ in 10 days and 23.60 million $ in 17 days in overseas which is 5th bets of all time, highest ever for Shahrukh Khan.

P.S The MNIK album is one of my all time favourite music albums! Just love each song on it! Once again, thanks for sharing that video.

You can't be in minority because Shahrukh,Kajol and Karan's films were huge when those films released.Shahrukh Kajol's chemistry shined not only because they had good chemistry, people like Karan were also a very important reason. Even if you notice Karan's filmography,he tried different concepts. Some worked some didn't and that happens with everyone. It doesn't matter what people of current time thinks about those films.Majority liked those films and thats the reason they were hits.Nothing can be flawless, what is important is film should be nice to a point that we can ignore the flaws. And also as u once said different people like different films. What is awesome for u can't be awesome for me.In such cases ultimate truth or facts kaam nehi karte.

Most people are reporting a 15-20 crore difference? (Bollylife, bollyarena, Koimoi etc)...Is that inaccurate?

I agree with you. Any form of art is subjective. You can quote figures but sometimes those figures don't quite say anything about the quality of a movie. People often dismiss Karan's cinema as candy floss and they might be but I think he's someone who's damn good at portraying different relationships on screen. And to be honest, I associate Karan's movies with Shahrukh and Kajol. Especially Shahrukh. He has made a SOTY and is now in the middle of filming another movie but I'm looking forward to him working with Shahrukh again.I feel like their movies definitely have had an impact on a huge audience out there. The Indian diaspora obviously loves those films but there are plenty in India too who enjoyed them thoroughly when they released here.
