Aamir was nominated in 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 - he attended all of those but didn't win. Then by 1996 he stopped attending and ironically he won that year. I don't think it was an attempt to please him. He deserved it.

Didn't kangana bashed awards...why would they give her an award? she don't respect them, they shouldn't respect her. With that being said, they did give her all the awards last year and she didn't even attend it. I think the person who delivered the most films back to back with different themes should get it. From Piku to BM, two different films

i think Aamir was most upset about Rangeela losing out to DDLJ, from what I remember. He stopped attending after that.

I think I"m part of the few people who thought rangeela was Urmila's film and jackie as well but I only remember Urmila. Aamir had more like a supporting role in that movie. DDLJ became an iconic movie TILL today, 20 years from now and we still love DDLJ so the deserving did win
