Horrific images of the deluge in Chennai continue to send shockwaves across the country, considering the magnitude of damage that has been done by the incessant rains. The natural calamity has united people from across neighbouring states and even our film stars are coming out in numbers to help those in dire need. However, one man who has been relentlessly at work, has been actor Siddharth.
One look at Siddharth's Twitter page and you know the effort he's putting in to ensure relief measures are taking place on a large scale. With rising water levels and all modes of communication shut down, hundreds in Chennai are hopelessly stranded and are seeking help in any form.
The Bommarillu star has sprung into action, and over the past few days, he along with his team has arranged food, water, shelter, transport and other basic necessities to those affected by the floods in Chennai.
Siddharth himself has been affected by the floods and the actor posted a chilling picture of his house submerged in water.
"Bathrooms submerged. Water coming out of the drains. I am an affluent actor. This is my house. Imagine the rest of TN (sic)," the actor posted on Twitter.
Working along with an NGO, Siddharth has been tirelessly laboring towards helping those in need. He has also created a Hashtag titled #ChennaiMicro, to bring in supplies. He also created a bank account titled Chennai Micro Fund, to raise money for the affected.
Closer home, our Telugu stars have also been doing their bit to help their neighbouring state. After stars like Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and NTR Jr among others, had donated large sums of money for the relief measures, the Daggubati family too sprung into action and arranged for essential to be transported from Ramanaidu Studios to Chennai.
"Please send whatever you like to Ramanaidu Studios Film nagar and we will ensure that it's sent to Chennai!! #manamadraskosam (sic)," Rana Daggubati posted on Twitt
