Watch the interviews for Fanaa, Kajol chose Fanaa over KANK and even Aamir said he thought only one person could do it but he was not sure Kajol would do it. She came back after a break and chose Fanaa and if I remember a coffee with Karan vaguely where she said something about SRK being pissed or something. But SRK is whom she is comfortable with and she rarely acts outside a limited circle of people.

SRK and Kajol do have something. Lots of somethings actually Even romantically involved actors have not achieved what they have, an ability to act on screen and be totally in sync and have it happen consistently for 20 plus years, even age and the gap between being on screen does not change that. They just pick where they left off. Kajol is a loud person, restful is not a word I would normally use to describe her. But see her with SRK, he has a smile on his face, sometimes even a beatific one. SRK hugs people, it is who he is, but it is mostly half hugs. She is one of the few he consistently brings close to himself and hugs with both hands. He is playful with her. Even people like KJo who others look at in awe, look up to SRK. He is in a very rarified place and she is one of the few who knew him from way back when he was just starting out. There is a comfort and familiarity with her he shares that is not there with many and it is mutual. Why does any of this have to be romantic ? Why can't it be friendship ? A deep friendship that goes back decades and is comfortable especially for someone like SRK whose friendship and favor is sought out by many. Perhaps she is one of the few he can be totally himself. The line about an unrequited love and each pining for each other makes for a great story and believe me I have looked for indications of it, but I just see nothing except two people who are extremely comfortable, familiar, share a bond, love each other and would be there for each other. But I can see only friendship, deep abiding friendship.

As for Ajay Devgan's relationship, he is not pals with any of Kajol's friends. Rohit Shetty was Ajay's friend first and Kajol is like his babhi. Why single SRK out among Kajol's friends, he is not pals with Kjo or anyone else ? I don't think Kajol would act with SRK again if Ajay said anything and he does not come across as insecure. But if it came down to it, Kajol would choose Ajay over SRK like she chose him over Adi IMO. She and Adi go back even further than her and SRK. Kajol came from a broken home and has seemed to crave security and a home with a mother and father for her children. If the rumors are true she has put up with quite a lot and I do not think she will jeopardize her life with Ajay just to act with SRK nor will SRK want her to.

Why the hell should Kajol bow down to the Khans and why does it make it egotistic if she does not ? She acted with all THREE of them before they were the KHANS. Aamir who is a perfectionist wanted her for Fanaa when she had taken a long break. And SRK would not cast her in Dilwale, sink his own money even if it is a 100 year DDLJ anniversary if he does not think she is an asset, not a liability and after a long gap. He is a businessman first and foremost, not an idiot nor does he do movies for charity. She is one of the few who knew the Khans from way back when and has acted with two of them in the last decade after becoming a mother and being on a break. Why should she bow to them ? That does not make her a good or bad person, but how does it make it egoistical if she refuses to kiss ass like most in BW do because the Khans are powerful and treats them as her peers which they in fact are.

FYI Kajol is a contemporary to the Khans, they all started out around the same time, within a time frame of 5 yrs between 1988 and 1993. Why would she kowtow to them? Shes not junior to the Khans like the recent actresses.

Its good for an actress to have an ego and not bow down to the powers that be. Or is it that only the Godly Khans and top male stars are allowed to have an ego? 🥱 Kajol is in a different category from current actresses, shes a veteran just like the Khans, Akki and Ajay.

Kajol even in her earlier interviews looked super confident about her performance. She never considered herself lucky to be part of Baazigar. Instead considered herself one of the reason for film's success. I could not make out, whether it was confidence or arrogance. Also, there was some incidence (have forgotten) with her statement. Sharukh's defence of her, sounded more like backhanded compliment (similar to Ranbir on Deepika. "She might sound rude, but she is honest). Again could not make out, whether he was appreciating or venting out. But over the years, their equation has evolved like any other relation.

Being fair weather friend is easy. But they have sailed through rough weather and stood strong. Sometimes they have acted silly. (SRK was miffed with Kajol for choosing Fanaa over KANK. He did not watch Fanaa. They said in KWK). But major crisis came when JTHJ clashed with SOS. Kajol naturally stood with her husband. Sharukh understood her position and throughout the period, remained quiet till the wave passed.

How about you stop putting bloody words into my mouth now 😆 haha. Only godly Khans allowed to have an ego? Actors and actresses should be proud of their work and confident but nobody should ever have an ego. FYI, as I mentioned above to the other person, did I say Kajol SHOULD bow down to the Khans?? I was in fact referring to the various posts on this forum acting like just because she doesn't bow down to the Khans it automatically makes her a good person by default. As if those two things are related.

Agree that she need not be a great person or good person because she does not bow down to the Khans.

Oh, I read properly alright. In my world 'she might actually be so egotistic that she can't bow down to them even if she wanted to' translates to there is a possibility she might have to bow down to the Khans and she won't because she is proud. I am confused in what capacity should she bow down to the Khans ? In fact why should any actress be it Madhuri or Deepika or Alia remotely even bow down to any Khan ? Why bring up bowing down to the Khans in any way in this context and say a person is egoistical if they do not want to ? The Khans do not deserve any actor or actress past, present or current bow down to them. Respect yes, but that goes both ways. Why should anyone bow dow to them ? They are just box office champs , not Gods.

If it was meant symbolically still does not make sense as refusing to kiss ass makes one egoistical ? 😕

You didn't read properly, like you said, that is what you interpreted in your world. Doesn't mean it was right.

Why would she have to bow down? Did I say that? Yeah it's your interpretation, well it's wrong. Nobody should ever bow down to anybody, whether it's an actress to an actor or an actor to an actress. And further, I was being sarcastic, thought that was clear. I even said myself that it sounded far-fetched, because it is completely ridiculous! It was to highlight that the other person's comment was just as ridiculous. (On a side note I also thought it was clear that it was meant symbolically).

And bowing down to the Khans was brought up because of what a particular user on this thread said - it was implied that Kajol is a better person simply because she doesn't kiss ass to the Khans like the other actresses do. Which is, well, such crap.

Kajol was a star kid, so she didn't have to sleep around.

To be honest, she looks really well groomed today, but looking at the way she dressed up when she debuted, I doubt anyone would have even bothered to cast her if she wasn't a star kid. No one would have even given a second look to her in commercial roles even if she would have struggled hard.
