No one says that Ranbir cant act the thing is he is not that likeable onscreen or his characters he is playing right now that you get impress by it For me. I think a big factor is that Ranbir is detached so he doesnt really show much emotions especially in sad parts thats why even Deepika kind of took the limelight from him at some portions in Tamasha thats also the fact why the second half was so boring bc i couldnt feel for him really which he could really naild it. But its my opinion. Talking about popularity i think it is wrong to say who has more popularity especially in this generatioin they are not the Khans to talk about popularity. People will go and watch if they are impressed with the movie they come up. So it all depends on Trailer, music and its genre. Just because Varun had no flops doesnt mean like some fans or the media brings it out that he has so much popularity. There plays a lot of other various factors than just a popularity. When he comes with two flops in future what will you say than? His popularity is gone like you are saying with Ranbir? The thing is everybody knows that Ranbir is a good actor but he can be soo good it doesnt matter the key points are the characters he is playing the kind of dialogues he is saying and the world of that movie. Another actor is Ranveer he maybe doesnt have the kiind of popularity that Ranbir has and his movie has not that much hit tags like Varun but the thing where ranveer impresses is besides his acting and always looking differently and doesnt repeat his characters he is an entertainer in which he impresses people who maybe didnt watch any movies of him and start to watch them. Like someone said i see Ranbir as the Aamir of this generation and Ranveer as SRK. These two right now are actingwise much more appreciated from the youngsters.
Coming to all the other actors the are not in the limelight of the media or audiences because they failed to impress with their acting or the movies they have done didnt work at the BO. But if one of these happens in the future you will maybe hear more about a Aditya Roy Kapur or Sid or Arjun or maybe some other newcomers. We can talk about real popularity in 10 years 😃
