You cant really make a 100 crore budget film with one of the heroines limping and expect people to like it, If the film has to recover its budget and make profits, it would need a huge chunk of the audience that watches Salman Khan-type of masala cinema. And SLB is doing just that. Look at the hype Pinga has got despite not being great song by any means. It's working.

Nope! Not when you sell your product as a historical movie. Kashibai does not need to be a dancer for the movie to work. Sanjay Leela Bhansali cares only about doing Devdas on steroids, nothing less nothing more. @ least get the costumes right yaar! It is like making a movie about Napoleon & have him wear renaissance frock & kiss Sapho from ancient Greece.

Bye bye national award for Bajirao Mastani. If this movie gets nominated in any shape or form, there goes the credibility of National Awards too.

All Slb fans talk as if there is no other good director in this country. Slb himself is an atrocious person who terrorizes actors and claims it to part of his artistic temperament

He is someone who makes films that are visually grand, but besides that are pretentious, ott, boring nonsense. Why let something as lame as 'historical accuracy' get in the way of his vision.

The ONLY way this will fly is if Kashibai is shown as was in the movie & Pinga was just a dream sequence for her, same for Rangoli. Otherwise... NOPE!

That trailer better show that better sense prevailed.

Whitewashed Deepika, healthy Priyanka, wrong costumes, ... I feel betrayed by SLB, once my fav director of this era! I would not expect someone like him to slack on important things like these in such a big movie!

SLB knows that controversy can actually help in generating business for the movie. Remember how much controversy there was for Ramleela? It was on the verge of being banned and managed to be all over the news channels due to this.

Its a bit unbelievable that a film-maker who spends crores making a film would not research on details like this, especially when you are making a story on historical characters, people whose descendants are still alive.

The Peshwa's are still highly revered in Maharasthra and Bajirao is considered one of their biggest hero's right after Shivaji. Now if he shows Bajirao dancing with Mastani, all hell will break loose.😆

I mentioned before, there is no way that a woman from the Peshwa family would show so much skin. And certainly not dance with her sauten. This only happens in SLB's la-la land! BM is an out and out commercial film, nothing more and nothing less.

Well not everything is hunky dory.

If you look at Shahjahan Mumtaz love story, you'll realise the kind of horrible things that Shahjahan did. Yet his story is remembered as one of the greatest love stories.

^ Mumtaz Mahal actually died while giving birth to her 14th child. Shah Jahan was even rumoured to have indulged in incest with his own daughter. He was the biggest Tharki in the Mughal Kingdom. There is nothing remotely romantic about the Taj Mahal, what is wonderful about it is the architecture and the aesthetics behind it, not the fake love story.

Akbar had close to 6000 wives and concubines, he probably did not even remember who Jodha was, except for the fact that she gave him his first born son. So much for romanticizing their Hindu-Muslim love story.

Bollywood should leave history as it is.

Deepika does look scarily white in the movie. Not just her face, but even her hands and midriff is suddenly milk white. What on earth is she getting done?😕

There might be a reason for all the safedi. Mastani was supposed to be so fair, that her skin was almost translucent.
