The comparisons with Dola Re are inevitable cuz both songs are about two women discussing their love for the same man and praising each other's love and devotion to the same man😆, all the while dancing in some kind of ironic joy😆

To me it's not about comparing it on the scale of gaudiness or subtlety...first and foremost it comes down to the song and dance itself...the song is average at best and the lyrics are hard to follow in terms of clarity...secondly the dancing...very busy and a lot going on...movements aren't crisp enough to stand out...PC's expressions and soft grace are the saving grace of this song...I actually feel sorry for DP for how awfully they've styled her...this is probably the worst she's ever looked on screen...the pulled back hair, the pale, unlined eyes...she's literally fading away into the song...

If they wanted to establish a female camaraderie b/w the two characters, that didn't come across either...I honestly found both PC and DP to be struggling a bit with the choreography...DP especially is coming across as more athletic than femininely graceful in this...it didn't feel like they were ENJOYING the song or the dancing...which should be like the first criteria of any great dance song IMO.

You just said everything I wanted to say . Agree with everything .

@Bold: You described all the problems abt this song vdo very well. 👍🏼

Song is indeed very ordinary, lyrics are not clear, choreography is disappointing, DP's makeup, hairstyle all horrible, and they dont seem to be enjoying as much as Ash and Madz did in Dola Re.

@Red: 😆 You nailed that one too! I dont know why SLB wants to show 2 co-wives dancing together in ironic joy...Really weird mentality! 😕

It is PC I'm amazed at...Kashibai's feelings are the ones that draw you in...the portion in the middle (around 2:00) when she's singing something about how Mastani stole Bajirao away from her ("Mere jiya mein utaari, tune pehni(?) Piya ki kataari"), there's a gleam in her eyes along with the grace and otherwise apparent sweetness towards Mastani...the duality of her feelings towards Mastani has been so masterfully portrayed by PC, I'm truly amazed.

Mastani meanwhile seems busy dancing in her own world😆...I guess the other woman didn't warrant the same nuance? They simply made her a "jogan" in Bajirao's love? lol

Because...MELODRAMA😆...it totally goes with SLB's theatrical sensibilities. He's all about the tragic/paradoxial ironies.

I wish Vaibhavi merchant had choreographed it.
Madhuri is the heart and soul of Dola re.Aishwarya for me is rather stiff.
I have to hand to PC though.I remember watching her pay tribute to madhuri along with lara ard 2004 and she cldn't move. But now she has grace .
Deepika is a good dancer .But her height plays a big part. She is taller and the attention goes to her.More flaws are visible than of PC's
Technically Deepika's hand movements and poses are correct. Pc misses the typical lavani head side to side movement.

Nice try but comparison is unfair.

True that! 😆 Hes very theatrical and melodramatic! 😆
PC will shine in her role of Kashibai, she will steal the show I think.

As well as her super long middle torso. She just doesn't have the figure to carry off a Marathi sari. Her hand movements are elegant in bits but the concentration to do each step comes off very obviously and doesn't flow naturally...in bits she deffo struggles as well like the way she moves into that step where she has to sit down while PC is behind her.

Well isn't the whole point of a duo performance that it is a test of your screen presence? This song is a testament to how far PC has come and the way she now has the POLISH of a veteran actress while DP's struggle shows...despite the fact that DP has probably done more intense heavy dance numbers earlier in her career than PC (Dhoom Tana from OSO comes to mind).

Vaibhavi or Saroj Khan...either would have done a better job of the choreography...This is anyways not Remo's forte and on top of that he's not been gifted a Madhuri or Ash who were better dancers than these two.

For me BM has been a disappointment in that none of the songs released give me a period feel.. I feel like I am watching present day people in costumes.

Are you talking about this one? 😳 I think she played tribute to Madhuri in 2012! I loved her dances in this, she was bang on in potraying Madhuri except for Dola re which I didn't like much 😆 Maybe because Madhuri was so fabulous in Dola re that nothing could even close to paying tribute to her in that song!!

It was too gaudy for me then and now its unbearable to watch for me even though Madhuri is my ultimate bias and I like Aishwarya too. But the OTT expressions of Aishwarya ruined it for me then, its almost was comical for me now. I wasn't the fan of the gaudiness in sets and dresses either. Madhuri and her expressions are to the point,so is her dancing, also Aishwarya seems to be dancing a bit faster than Madhuri. I love the fact that Madhuri gave such a awesome performance while being pregnant in real life.

So after Pinga released I just wanted to watch Dola re again. N my sentiments are same as they were when it released. I prefer the much toned down version of Pinga. PC and DP can never be as good as Madhuri when it comes to dancing. But I liked their dancing. I hate SLB's Devdas so anything is better than that for me. I like the subtly in DP and PC's expressions.

I cringe looking at Aishwarya's OTT expressions here. 😵 And in the starting of this song Aish's dance is so comical. Everything old isn't gold for me.
