Lol nostalgia always gets to us. I have never been a fan of the movie or Dola Re. It was too gaudy for me then and now its unbearable to watch for me even though Madhuri is my ultimate bias and I like Aishwarya too. But the OTT expressions of Aishwarya ruined it for me then, its almost was comical for me now. I wasn't the fan of the gaudiness in sets and dresses either. Madhuri and her expressions are to the point,so is her dancing, also Aishwarya seems to be dancing a bit faster than Madhuri. I love the fact that Madhuri gave such a awesome performance while being pregnant in real life.

So after Pinga released I just wanted to watch Dola re again. N my sentiments are same as they were when it released. I prefer the much toned down version of Pinga. PC and DP can never be as good as Madhuri when it comes to dancing. But I liked their dancing. I hate SLB's Devdas so anything is better than that for me. I like the subtly in DP and PC's expressions.

I cringe looking at Aishwarya's OTT expressions here. 😵 And in the starting of this song Aish's dance is so comical. Everything old isn't gold for me.

This Pinga is not even close to the real " PINGA" performed in Maharashtra Pinga is performed by married ladies during the month of Shravan on Mangala Gauri Pooja day. Letdown on all sides. To add the Lavani steps to Pinga is almost like diluting the purity of Pinga.

And I am not even going to compare it to Dola Re.

But yes PC is a better dancer.

But Pinga stands firm on comparison.

Dola re was awesome. Of course coz Madhuri was in it. Back then I hated Aish' moves. She is always very stiff while dancing. Now when I watch I am kinda ok with her.

in Pinga.. both these ladies efforts are commendable. Now they are no Madhuri but yet their grace and dance is impressive. PC is surely nailing it and DP's efforts there was very much visible. I like the choreography too.

The comparisons with Dola Re are inevitable cuz both songs are about two women discussing their love for the same man and praising each other's love and devotion to the same man😆, all the while dancing in some kind of ironic joy😆

To me it's not about comparing it on the scale of gaudiness or subtlety...first and foremost it comes down to the song and dance itself...the song is average at best and the lyrics are hard to follow in terms of clarity...secondly the dancing...very busy and a lot going on...movements aren't crisp enough to stand out...PC's expressions and soft grace are the saving grace of this song...I actually feel sorry for DP for how awfully they've styled her...this is probably the worst she's ever looked on screen...the pulled back hair, the pale, unlined eyes...she's literally fading away into the song...

If they wanted to establish a female camaraderie b/w the two characters, that didn't come across either...I honestly found both PC and DP to be struggling a bit with the choreography...DP especially is coming across as more athletic than femininely graceful in this...it didn't feel like they were ENJOYING the song or the dancing...which should be like the first criteria of any great dance song IMO.

Totally agree, the dance is nowhere close to Dola rey. Its the choreography that made Pinga less attractive than Dola re...and also the song isnt that great either. PC and DP have tried their best but could not lift it above the level of an ordinary song and dance vdo, nothing memorable that u would want to watch again and again.

😆 I am sure Pinga will be forgotten sooner or later because this song is not memorable at all and the video is a hot mess 🥱 DP is so mechanical and lifeless! plus she looks really hideous with the whiteface on 🤢 and although PC was the saving grace, even she was no great shakes!
