What difference does it make who was the first choice? The only person who matters now is the who is finally chosen and if that person did a good job or not.

Uff! Tired of these "MyChoice", "1st choice" discussions.

DP if it makes you happy, going forward we will take it for granted that you were the 1st choice for all the movies but due to date issues or some other reason, it went to someone else. Khush?

Apparently, Anil Kapoor requested Salman Khan to put in a word for daughter Sonam Kapoor for 'Dolly Ki Doli'

If sources are to be believed, Anil Kapoor apparently recommended Sonam Kapoor to Salman Khan for Sooraj Barjatya's upcoming film.

Says a source, "When Arbaaz Khan approached Sonam for his project, Dolly Ki Doli, she agreed to star in his film. So recently when Anil Kapoor got to know that Sooraj Barjatya has been looking for a lead actress opposite Salman Khan in the film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Anil decided to suggest his daughter's name to Salman."

The source points out that since Anil is anyway a close friend of Sooraj Barjatya, the latter was more than happy to sign on Sonam. "After Anil recommended Sonam's name to Salman, Sooraj got to know about this. Since he's a good friend of Anil's, he had a chat about the same with him and Sooraj then decided to offer the film to Sonam. Both he and Salman felt that she would fit the part," says the source.

It may be pointed out that Sooraj Barjatya had initially approached Deepika Padukone but she couldn't do the film due to date issues. After this, several names, including Anushka Sharma and Nargis Fakhri, were rumoured to have been offered the part but the fact is that neither of them were finalised for it.

Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya and Anil and Sonam Kapoor remained unavailable for comment.

Deepika Padukone has always maintained that it wasn't Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan butSalman Khan who first offered her a movie when she was still a model. She couldn't do it then and after that, didn't get the opportunity to work with the superstar again.

But it seems this may change in the coming year. According to a source, Deepika may soon be signed opposite Salman in Sooraj Barjatya's next. "Deepika has kept bulk dates exclusively for Sooraj's film. This time, she doesn't want to miss out on the chance to star opposite Salman. Besides, she's a self-confessed fan of Barjatya too," adds the source.

When Mirror asked the reclusive director about the casting coup, without revealing much, Sooraj said, "We've had several meetings with Deepika and the talks have reached an advance stage. Right now, we are figuring out the dates since it's a long schedule. However, nothing is official yet."

If the deal works out, then Aamir will be the only Khan left to be paired opposite the leggy lass currently ruling Bollywood.

The above two posts from former IF pages. Ive copied them directly from the posts which were made THEN. Itsnot possible to CONCOCT such pages. So, i dont know what the controversy is..maybe Deepikas PR has claimed Deepika was first choice, BUT what im saying by directly copying and pasting from the ORIGINAL posts with DATES intact is this is not just magicked up NOW. The talks did go on, thats why all these posts.

That things did not work out with Deepika later (look at what what she signed- Bajirao Mastani, Piku, Tamaasha...so i find it quite possible she gave those films preference over someone who made Vivaah some many years ago and in which the heroine doesnt seem to have to emote much.

The fact is its is PRETTY DARN CLEAR that Deepika was considered and talks were held with HER for this film. That was NOT a lie.

Its pretty simple. IF SONAM was the one they had negotiated with THEN, HR name would have been on these posts NOT Deepikas.

And as for Salman coming to Sonams rescue, did he own running over pavement dwellers in a drunk rage or did he send his driver to say the driver was the one driving? has she gone to jail like Sanjay dutt for a crime everyone knows is an open and shutcase? so...HIS word is going to make a difference? Haw Haw Haw.

An article just came out that Sonam royally ignored Kriti Sanon at a public event...well, if that doesnt spell unclassiness and insecurity, i dont know what does, if its true. As for its being true, lets wait for Kritis answer to that. if she says no comments...lol. we will know whats what.

Long before Sonam was officially announced as being in PRDP, she was already signed for the movie. That's a known fact and later on confirmed by both Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya. Sooraj wanted Sonam in the movie after watch Raanjhanaa back in 2013. Even though, Sonam was signed for the movie, Rajshri still ran a poll about who people want to see in PRDP? Why? Publicity. Everything in Bollywood tries to get more publicity.

Sonam's mistake was that she never had her PR send out articles giving hints she's in the movie. Why? Her PR sucks. Simple as that. Deepika on the other hand, her PR is the best in business and to link Deepika to one of the biggest movies will only give her more publicity.

And Anil Kapoor begging Salman Khan to take Sonam in the movie? Both Sooraj and Salman have stated many times that Salman didn't want Sonam in the movie because him being Anil Kapoor's friend, he thought it will be awkward to romance Sonam. Sooraj had to convince Salman, not the other way around.

Explicitly stating that you are in advanced talks with Deepika and are figuring out dates is more than publicity. That's what Sooraj did/said.
