I had read on this very forum itself that Deepika was offered the film and refused it. At that time it was reported in quite a few articles and featured in a few blinds as well. As for now, how does it matter? I think Sonam is not that great, but suits this particular role. And Deepika's dialogue promo for Tamasha is great and hopefully the film will work for her.

I don't even think Deepika is behind the PRDP articles. Why would she want to give more PR and attention to a movie she isn't even in? If it became a big hit, then it makes sense to release those articles later about being first choice to get a bit of a glory that comes with it.

But not right now. I think right now it's PRDP's PR spreading this around to show how big this movie is and how actresses are fighting over it and what a juicy role this is. That's why even Salman and Sooraj Bharjatya are getting into it. (In real life, I can't see either one caring about one bit about catfighting actresses)

These Sonam vs. Deepika articles help Sonam also to create a false equivalency between her and Deepika when there is none at all right now. Deepika is far ahead. I doubt she wants to be compared to Sonam at all at this point in her career. She gains nothing from it.

i'm the biggest salman sooraj fan, but aren't they protesting a bit much

who even cares about this and that there are 50 articles about it.

it seems only sonam cares.

NOW it's Deepika's PR coming out with the articles. Now her team won't shut up about how she was the first choice. Articles coming out before the cast was announced make sense. Articles coming out make no sense. Seriously move on.

lol what do articles do for her now? All they do is promote PRDP. Doesn't make sense. And articles of Deepika being in PRDP first came out in 2013 (not now), which is also when Sooraj confirmed her involvement.

Being "first choice" is no big deal. Deepika wasn't the first choice for a lot of her movies as well. But in the end, she starred in them and made them what they are. Likewise for Sonam, no matter who the first choices were for PRDP, she is in the movie now, and it is hers and hers only.

Don't get the hype about being first choice at all. 🤔

Ok, we got that the first time it was announced. No need to repeatedly post about it. Sonam is so insecure about being the first choice, when she has no reason to be complaining. She is in the film and that is all that counts, really.

In any case, even if she was not the first choice, what would you expect them to say? "We were really keen on Deepika, but had to make do with Sonam"?

Deepika Padukone has always maintained that it wasn't Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan butSalman Khan who first offered her a movie when she was still a model. She couldn't do it then and after that, didn't get the opportunity to work with the superstar again.

But it seems this may change in the coming year. According to a source, Deepika may soon be signed opposite Salman in Sooraj Barjatya's next. Is it still unclear that Sooraj B offered the film to Deepika first in spite of the above.?

I am not condoning any PR from Deepika claiming this but am stating that Sonam cant NOT know that Sooraj B said all this..Sonam and a few stars are ones who i believe 100 percent read all the stuff written about them. Isnt it better then to keep a dignified silence or say maybe Deepika was considered but she did it in the end and let the matter end there?

Instead wars are going on, quoting no less than the hero of the film, and what not.

Yes it is unclear. And No she wasn't offered as per the video interview by Sooraj ji himself. If you don't want to take Sal's words, go ahead and take Sooraj ji the man himself who stated very clearly he found Maithali when he saw Sonam in Ranjana (came out in June 2013)...! 😛 Sonam may not know but I am sure Sooraj ji knows of the decision he had taken back in 2013. And yes the matter should have ended the minute Sonam was doing the movie...! But But But But PR queen had to meddle in the business after 2 years in a movie that has nothing to do with her, which is just disgusting, petty and vile as Kareena and her platter talks...!!! 😛😛

O and if you do not like the war, then may be shouldn't participate in the same. But now you are just as involved in he war with the back and forth quoting...! 😛

A fact is a fact. If deepika was offered the movie, then that is what it is.

sonam asking Salman to say she was first and only heroine is calling Deepika a liar and Deepika has a right to defend herself.

somebody said sooraj saw Raanjhana and decided? why? he hasnt seen Sonam in any other movie like Mausam or Saawariyan where she had the same look? why would he even talk about Deepika and her dates if it werent so and be quoted. Why didnt his office deny the article quoting him?This was way back.

and it wasnt easy signing deepika because she was neck deep in offers and he had to wait for her dates which didnt work out inthe end and Sonam was doing a guest role in Milkha and bewakoofiyan.
