OT: yes, she badly needed a reality check.

She is the female version of Shahid- she may have everything going but yet she lacks dat something essential, dat intangible X factor which can make even an average catress like Sonam shine on screen

Flop happens..so nothing to worry about
Alia has got plenty of potential and she will do fine despite this flop
However may be reality check to think about moving out of KJo's mediocre closet

More than Alia I think Shandaar should be a reality check for all those promising new directors who sizzle in small budget content driven films, but then get swayed away by Kjo, Chopras, Roshans and come up with films like LCMD, Kites - Shandaar is the latest in line.

Alia is good - nothing against her.She seems more mature and down to earth than the likes of Sonam and bebo. I think she is way more focussed and hardworking compared to them. But she needs to fight her own battle- she is young and the way her mentor babysitting her, she isn't showing any sign of growing up soon.Alia is 23 right?? Bebo, Pc also started early in their lives and were pretty big names at that age, they never got treated by media and industry like this.

Why should it be a reality check for Alia?! She is pretty young and advanced in her career. She can afford few flops without effecting her.

In Shaandaar, she's does great. In fact, she's one of the best things about the movie. She's perfect as Alia Arora. Why does she even need a reality check? She's a great actor who is getting better with each movie and she has always been very grounded about her success.

Alia is a decent actress and has age on her side, so she can go far.

As for Highway, the film did below average business actually, but of course, it did find appreciation.
