Talvar Continues Strong Run On Day Eight

Talvar continued its strong run with collections around 1.60-1.65 crore nett on day eight which same as the previous day. The first day had grossed 2.50 crore nett but that was a national holiday so if you take outh the national holiday factor, the collections on day eight are similar to the real value of day one.

The film will show big growth on Saturday and the weekend business of the film will be better than the big budget Singh Is Bling which released on the same day. The eight figures ensure that Talvar is set for a good run at the box office till Diwali which is four weeks away.

Looking at the trend the film will cross 30 crore nett which is a huge total for a film like this. It easily beats other art house type films which managed to collect at the box office like The Lunchbox, and Peepli Live. the Lunchbox grossed 21 crore nett and Peepli Live with support of Aamir Khan banner did 29 crore nett.

Just returned from the movie.

What a riveting watch!! It's an outstanding film. Hats off Meghna Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj. 👏👏👏

I never followed the Aarushi murder case and hence I really wanted to see the movie. It shows 3 different perspectives of the case as arrived by the investigation team and the movie leans towards the conclusion that the parents were indeed innocent. It leaves open ended to merge with the reality.

What it does highlight cleverly, the most disturbing fact, is the weakness of the legal system that is full of loopholes.

Editing and Screenplay is very tight. Acting is top notch. Irrfan does a great job once again and I hope he wins Best Actor critics award for this. Neeraj and Konkona provide able support to the proceedings. I can see them winning supporting acting honors. All other character actors do a fine job as well.

I wasn't bored one minute. Loved the background score. What an utterly satisfying watch!

IMO, the best hindi film of the year so far!

Please watch this movie folks. It is important that we support such small films with a big heart. I'm really thrilled to know that it is doing well.

Talvar Huge Growth Again - Singh Is Bling Second Saturday

Talvar showed huge growth on its second Saturday and the business was in the same range as last Saturday which means that if we take out that national holiday factor on day one then second weekend is in same range as first weekend. The film has grossed 17.75 crore nett so far in nine days. The business of its second week till date is as follows.

Friday - 1,50,00,000

Saturday - 2,75,00,000

TOTAL - 4,25,00,000

Singh Is Bling also managed to show big growth on its second Saturday but its not going anywhere as collections are at a low level. The collections are mainly in the North with 50% contribution from Delhi / UP and East Punjab. The business of the film in the first two days of the second week are as follows.

Friday - 1,50,00,000

Saturday - 2,50,00,000

TOTAL - 4,00,00,000

Talvar maintained very well in the second weekend dropping just 18% and with the first day being national holiday, the real drop is just around 10%. This would have been even lower but the film failed to grow on Sunday as the cricket match affected collections of all films. The daily business of Talvar till date is as follows.

bloody awesome movie!

no surprise..especially when screenplay and writing is from ace vishal B.

meghna directing is TOP!

what we say about Irfan khan. forget about the other 3 khans...here is one khan who can give others run for money when it comes to giving super duper performance.

i say nawazudin and irfan khan are currently the top notch actors of bollywood.

konkona and the guy who plays her husband are super as well.

i love love konkona actress. i just hope she gets more roles to play in this evil bollywood ...where only most popular actors are given first chances.

easily one of the best movie of the year. no doubt.

go for it guys!
