Nargis's iconic role in Mother India - is a dream for many ACTRESSES. I have listed a few actresses who are in the 40s-50s, suited to play a Mother to two grown up guys.

Vidya is an exception age wise but knowing she eyes challenging characters and is capable to pull it off I wanted to nominate her.

Casting directors, please make your selections known and discuss. 😊

Also Shanna Azmi though she is not in list

I would pick Tabu. She has the gravitas to pull such a graceful character.

Shabana is great, if the movie was made 20 years ago. I will have a hard time imagining her in the "young" scenes in the beginning of the movie. 😆

Any younger actress can do young part then oldie part another.
I thought if you take seniour actor like Hritik or Amir in her sons role then Sabana suits perfectly.Is Tabu ready to play mother's role for even young actors like Varun or Ranveer?
