Gadar was in # 1 position one month back too when I checked...but the other movies changed spots...

I guess jo jitna BOI ko funds deta hai uskey movies ko waisa hi position milta hai...😆

So Sunny Deol still rules and next comes Aamir. 😃

HSSH and Mohabbtein were just hits, whereas KMG and Krrish were BBs. Even inlation adjusted figures wont change that fact. But we know how much BOI loves Hrithik. 😉

Footfalls... Its a diff story that Boi can change that too. Its like they call random ppl and ask them if u watched Gadar in cinema? and 1000 out of 1500 says yes.. so they multiply that by 1000 and make it 10 laks ppl watched it. But after a month,some ppl come to their non existing office and say hey we also watch it in cinema...ok,how many? 100.ok,lemme change it to 11 lakhs but then some ppl call their non existing number and say hahaha, we were just making fun... we watched on tv.Ok,how many?200 of us. Ok then lemme change...its now 9 lakhs. 👏 har pal badal rahi hai roop zindgi...

Footfalls can be a good indicator for max.of 5 years considering population increase, no. of cinemas and ticket prices. but if we talk abt 2 decades or more... its of no use. Inflation adusted is better indicator. I checked out the diff. between 1975 and 2015 inflation rate.its 68 time higher now. What it means is 1 Rs in 75 is equal to 68 Rs now. So,Sholay in today's Rs is @ 1100 Crs.But in 85 the inflation wud be around 50 Rs, in 95 it wud be around 30 Rs, in 2000,it wud around 15 Rs, in 2005,it wud be around 5 Rs. So, 5 years old film wont get as much jump as say 1970 film.

Also, there r 2 sides of argumets as to how many ppl got to cinemas. In 75, India's poulation wa 70-75 Crs and no. of theatres were half. Economy was poor. Today, its 1.2 billion, so many multiplxes and SCs, economy much better, midddle class is much richer. But there r piracy and intenet and many forms of entertainment. So, the arguments balances out.

Anywho, Boi will keep changing the list and keep us entertained, thats for sure. 😛

Q. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is the biggest hit this year but would it be correct in saying that Tanu Weds Manu Returns with its 150 crore is the biggest achievement this year?

Ans. The biggest achievement this year is the 112 crore nett of Baahubali in Hindi. Actually its probably the biggest box office achievement since Gadar in 2001. The figures and appreciation by the Hindi audience is remarkable. South dubbed films sometimes work in some Hindi markets like a Humse Hai Muqbala, Bombay and Hindustani in the mid 90's but these did not work too well in North. Baahubali has even scored in Delhi /UP and East Punjab becoming the first film from South to do so and the 25 crore nett combined total from these two markets is just unbelievable.

actually...BOI ka MANIPULATIONS fail ho jaata hai...on Gadar...look at the difference between Gadar and the next movie...around 100 cr...ab BOI bhi kitna manipulate karegi😆😆
