Exactly we hardly know anything about devasena. Nor about kunthala desam.

Anushka mentioned during the Kerala audio launch that devasena is the best character she's got to play in the 10 years of her career. (That actually surprised me,she had already played the iconic arundhati and the historical rudramadevi, and still she thinks devasena is the best out of all that.)

But you know both Hindi and Malayalam dubbed versions translated the meaning into mother directly if that was indeed the case.

The priest guy seems to be an open supporter of bijjaladeva and bhallaladeva. (In the movie,when they showed that mamatala talli song, and bhallaladeva was shown breaking that huge rock,he was the one who cheered for him first.)

Do you think he will have a bigger role in 2nd part? I somehow feel like it.. And even Sivagami seems to be okay with this guy.. like she approves of him.. (maybe not as much as Kattappa but she still does).Yeah,maybe .I think we can assume that if he was the one who brought devasena 's proposal, he'd have intended it for bhallaladeva;saying the excuse he was elder.but shivgami hopefully might've considered it for baahu, since he was the king. (Or not.both has equal chances. )

And in the present also,he was very much onto bijjaladeva 's side and looking on to devasena being insulted. So he's not a positive character for sure.
