..than the male ones to make a name?

Barring the 40+ actors , there is no outsider there except Siddharth and Sushsnt. And Sushant is not even considered an A lister!

On the other hand, amongst the top actresses most are outsiders!

Deepika, Katty, Kangy, PC , Anushka!

And the starkid actresses are struggling like Sonam or Sonakshi. 😆

Yes, I have noticed that too!

BW is a Men's Club so they dont allow male newcomers to enter their territory...but female newcomers are always more than welcome...you get what I mean? 😉

Outsider has one or two movies in hand lol
Kangana hardly has two or three movies.
Deepika didnt signed anythg.
Anushka has one or two movies.
Katrina has two movies.

Yes I do get. It must be a chauvinistic place and we all know how casting couch plays a great great role in the upcoming actresses' lives!

At least these actresses have had chances to prove themselves! I can't remember when was the last time a talented non starkid newcomer actor was given proper exposure!

Aloo baby is seriously lucky!
For a non looker with strictly decent talent, she gets way more than she deserves! 🥱

And yes, easier for the girls anyday - Anushka, Kangy, DP, parineeti are all outsiders.

But as someone mentioned, its a male dominated industry and will remian so

Yep! All the top male actors today are the Khans, Roshan, Kumar or Kapoors. And no outsider has been able to break this monopoly (yet). We have Siddharth Malhotra who is doing well for himself but that is mainly because he has a mentor like KJO. If he didn't have such an influential mentor, he and SSR would be in the same boat.

It's easier for female new-comers (outsiders) to make a mark in the industry because they are nothing more than eye-candies in most films and the more variety of eye-candies we (as in the audience) have the better. Yes, the trend is changing now...we have more female-centric movies today but it wasn't always the case.

Plus, an actress's shelf life is probably one-third of an actor's shelf life...(though I don't think a male really has a shelf life...Khans and Bachchan Sr. don't seem to be stopping any time soon...which actresses in their 50s and 60s are getting substantial offers?)...As young actresses pass (for the lack of a better word) their shelf life, they get less and less offers which in turn paves way for new actresses (starkids and/or outsiders). It is an unfortunate, bitter truth but this is how the chuavinistic industry works.

Yes females definitely find it easier because compared to the males, the female starkids join the industry less frequently. See the male starkids/ industry kids: Ranbir, Hrithik, Abhishek, etc. Their sisters are all elsewhere. Those who did venture in like Kajol, Karisma, Kareena, all found a place. And those that faded away didn't have the talent, same truth holds for the men as well.

You say barring the 40+ but it is because of these senior actors' neverending run as leading men that it is very hard for a male newcomer to make a mark. Jagah kahaan hai outsiders ke liye? Even the talented industry kids like Shahid and Ranbir are struggling. Competition to deliver is way more fierce with the men because females can still exist even if they can't carry a film on their shoulders. Bitter truth! These names you've listed are on top now but they all had to first make a place in the industry by playing second fiddles to their male counterparts.
