Just few facts - Saif's comments can be debated in different context. His opinion , debatable .
But what annoyed everyone all around especially in India about this ban is the protagonist , who is a terrorist - Hafiz. He has been living there for sometime, there is ample proof and world bodies, various countries have put him on the most wanted list . We can understand the helplessness of the Pak Govt to a point but when this guy gets to walk to a court which refuses to call him a criminal and file up a case against a movie on the basis that it name calls a terrorist outfit and subtly threatens the govt of adverse actions- you know it is to piss people of India and around, especially now when the NSA level talks are cancelled.
While I do understand nobody in their right mind would support him but rather then understanding the anguish over this man, it all became about a ban which was stupid . Because that has happened all around. Bin Roye was quoted- movie got released just like P.K, MNIK, Fanna and many more in India which Shiv Sena tries to protest- heck these movies made money and govt /public both showed the middle finger. Hamlet was anti-army , cetain punjabi movies which talk about riots get released under protest and go on to make money. It's govt's duty to ensure FOE. yet still ban is a state's prerogative and I won't question pakistan over it. But Hafiz and his freedom is a global issue , like Osama was - you cannot defend or deflect it with mud-slinging .
Bringing Modi was hilarious because we all know the tall order of Pak heads who either kill each other or go to jail. i don't see them differently, power and internal issues.
Shiv Sena and the right wings are few powerless thugs now, nobody cares- they whine and we ignore. They went after v-day and look how that was handled. But equating them to Taliban who would kill a girl child for seeking education was off-base. Shiv Senas are right winged politicians who exist in every country including Pakistan.
SL attack by RAW when Taliban proudly accepted the responsibility . An outfit that wants to harm India will work with Raw..nice logic there.
I personally don't like threads to be closed. But well calling Salman a criminal used to get a thread banned but now he is a convict , it's allowed. But we cannot call Modi a terrorist considering court acquitted him..IF logic.
