No, man! Wanting to watch it since forever. I've seen the previous two in the trilogy (Fire and Earth) and I hear this is the best of the lot. It's among my top 5 on the to-watch list but it just keeps getting pushed

Trivia: When the Academy relaxed the rules about the foreign language submission not necessarily being in a language native to the country, Canada was the first to take advantage of the rule by submitting Water which was in Hindi. Previously, it's submissions were all in French.

I haven't seen the other two.

My favourite in the fire, earth, water trilogy is Earth.

baise bhi India main deserving movies ko chance nahin milta
Paheli movie was send by India to Oscar that time{in 2005} 😆
It is one of worst movie of SRK
Water was send by Canada I think in 2006 since it released in 2005

That's true. Paheli got good reviews for it's production values but as a story, it was a frikkin' fantasy folktale! I haven't seen it but I heard it was pretty boring. What made them think it was a good idea to submit that film to the Oscars?😳

If at all they wanted to send an SRK film, they should've sent Swades. It seems exactly like the kind of raw, realistic film showing the underdeveloped side of India which seems to appeal to the Academy. I researched on this a few days ago, the period for foreign language films is Oct-Sept as opposed to Jan-Dec so Swades would've been eligible for the 2005 Oscars as it released in Dec 2004. I also wish India had sent CDI in 2007. I don't think it stood the chance Swades did in getting shortlisted but at least would've been better than bearing the Eklavya embarrassment

Yup, watched it. the twist was very disturbing.
John falls in love with this gori widow who were to commit suicide in water.. then he finds out some these young women r sent to sell their bodies for sex from the Aashram for money, It was shocking that John's father was the one who was sexually molesting the girl he loved. 😡😲

Deepa Mehta's movies have that shock values.. but very close to realism thats why it has more impact.
