😆 Somehow I think he's exaggerating his closeness to Alia to promote this new tv channel. Yes I do think they are close, and I do think he is and probably always will be a great mentor to her. I also think because of her young age and baby face it's easier for her to be taken seriously if she's associated very closely with Dharma.

But both of them are trying to give this perception of father/daughter bond which I think is exaggerated. Alia actually comes from a very strong family herself and has a close bond with her family. I think if the proverbial crap ever hit the fan she will go to her mom and dad. When she's caught off guard in interviews she does give snippets about family bonding.

Alia in several occasion has mentioned she is not closed her parents
May be she shares bond only with her sister
but she doesn't share that equation neither with her father or mother

From what I have read of her interviews she's said growing up she wasn't close to her father but now she is. I have never heard her say the same about her mom, so I am kind if surprised that she's said that. But just a few months ago her mom actually said that Alia being so busy if she even has a couple of hours free in a day she calls me, her sister and her dad and tries to plan a lunch or something. She just went on a family vacation with them, and even for her birthday her parents posted pictures of her with her cakes and everything. Actually last year Mahesh Bhatt on his own Birthday posted a picture of Alia massaging his feet and said it was a yearly tradition that he would get a foot massage from Alia in exchange for 500 rupees. He joked that Alia's fees might have gone up now.

Anyway, sorry for going on a tangent. I guess we don't really know for sure. But the girl is prone to exaggerations and giving different stories in different interviews 😆. I still think her closeness to KJo while genuine is being exaggerated to the media.

Yes they're all liars as & when they feel like, it's year job after-all!! Alia is very very close to her mother &'sister for sure. Dunno about her father.

And you're spot-on about the KJo bit. 😆 The only one KJo looks out for completely is Sid Mal & now Fawad. 😆

Alia might not be a beauty but she's definitely brains. Knows the ways of Bollywood too well for someone who's supposedly dumb. My friends actually think Alia & Katrina are bimbos & all I do is laugh at them 😆

Good for Aloo. I like ambitious, cunning girls. Just that stop shoving her everywhere KJo cos that's the only thing which can harm her.

Yeah she's a smart cookie alright. What Kjo's been able to do for her, even her own film family wouldn't have been able to do that much. She does need to distance herself a little from Dharma though, or at least show that she's distant but still get the perks, like Varun does 😆

Its apparent. Karan Johar and Alia bhatt shared a deep connection in their past life. 😆 Thats why there are no hitches in their relationship of mentor/protege. No ego problems. No power struggles. They came together in this lifetime only to create magic together. And if they continue on this loving path, next lifetime will probably be that of man and wife.

Yeah, eyes are rolling at a above explanation, but heck this is what i got from watching Peace of Mind channel and reading Brian Weiss.
