First bring that actress who has ruled from early 80s for ten years and still is recognizable for being in the spotlight and doing something contemporary and being successful in 2015, then we will talk.
Can you imagine Aamir trying to hold the stage and entertain like SRK. hosting award shows, doing extempo acts and holding audience under your spell needs a certain something. Aamir can host a Satyamev Jayate, but he wont be able to keep audeince attention with his personality and wit in live shows. which means no one is gonna pay him millions of dollars to perform either.
THe reason Madhuri was offered Jhalak for first season was because of her own aura as a once superstarni...the following SIX seasons she got signed up was because of the positive reaction she drew with her star quality and judging. She proved herself. NO matter how much anyone here HYPES up Sridevi I cannot imagine Sridevi judging or daying speaking something entertaining on a talent show. I havent even seen her say anything very articulate whenshe was at her heights of success.!!!
Sirf being an ex superstar wont do the job on Jhalak demands some degree of wit, charm and gift for articulation.
i love all of Madhuris ads...and if someone who has the time is getting paid crores for an ad, why wont she do it? Give me a reason. If Juhi were OFFERED those ads she might do it. But you also have to get offered na. Kurkure made use of juhis bubbly persona, similarly the products bigwigs demanded Madhuri show her dance in their ads, so who is she to argue. She just goes, does her act for a day and gets paid crores. Not a bad thing, eh?
Rekha is being compared to Madhuri as higher? for what! Wearing Kanjeevaram sarees and matching accessories at film awards or being known as Amitabh Bachchans stalker or her avatar as a modern day Miss Havisham in her house? hema malini is much to be applauded but she is from early 70s, disappeared in 80s to raise her kids acted in mother roles in one or two films, and then she joined politics...she must be 20 years mads senior.? In same time frame, madhuri was top actress, got married, raised her kids, then she came back, acted in three films with meaty roles and anchored a successful tv show. There has been NOTHING desperate about her. Her stepping down from the show has just happened...and YOU ARE SIGNING HER OBITUARY? How do you know what she has planned next. And if she chooses to not do anything more also she has achieved ENOUGH. Koi aira gaira actress ka husband will leave a flourishing surgeons career in usa to accompany his wife to India? It was because it was worth it. She got satisfaction from being a working woman and having her family around her same time.
If she is a household name now, its not because she was putting selfies out instagram, or posing in miniskirts with her children or attending hi fi filmi events..or wearing heavy kanjeevarams and exquisite makeup.she is known because of her WORK.
Yes, her films were flops unfortunately. That is not in hands. That she got offers for such good roles itself in a man oriented bollywood is an achievement. She should get an award for these, just as Tabu should. They are the true woman empowerers much before this word came into fashion...but in bollywood no one notices unless you do shout it out from page 3 or mumbai mirror.
Someone is saying madhuri is looking older than raveena, juhi etc..gimme a break. Raveena and company have gone and done the whole hog and done complete face lift, cutting, lifting, replacing, pulling pushing etc..you can put raveena next to a 29 year old and she will look younger. In plastic terms. madhuri got her films without resorting to plastic surgery. The films didnt need a plastic doll.
