90 to 95% of his movies are romantic and rom com in 25 years long acting career..so much for that versatility.. Lol
He has literally made a career out of crying like a baby and opening his arms.. Lol

I disagree...and for you and those others who are under the impression that to be versatile u have to nail each and everything ..here is the definition of versatile ...

It is not HUMANLY possible for any actor to ace all the genres...just because he is not good in a couple of genres like period movies or comedy...doesn't mean he is not versatile...the fact that he is convincing as hell in the two polar opposite roles...that is ROMANTIC and NEGATIVE ROLES...is enough to call him versatile..I am going by the definition here....and if u guys want someone to be just perfect in all the genres...then try looking on some other planet...yahan earth per toh koi nahi milega😆😆

I am amused at Aamir fans calling Raees another masala film. For them even Aamir's trash is sublime. Or deluge of message films means versatility.

It is too early to judge Raees for now. But yes it is a departure from usual SRK stuff so it is worth looking forward to.

If u are undermining the importance of romance in BW movies...then let me tell you...that in a movie like PK...which could have done easily without a romantic angle...they had to insert the falling in love of that alien with an earthling...BW movies thrives on romance...no matter what the subject is or how serious the subject is ...the freaking romance has to be there...In 3 Idiots...there was no need for a romantic angle...it was the story of 3 friends and a strong social message...but heck no...Aamir Khan had to have a dream sequence with Kareena..singing a romantic song...so try to be realistic...its BW with are talking about...😆😆

Why Bringing in aamir in this?? I have posted two comments in this thread.. Not a single one of them involves aamir or Aamir khan movies..Yes I have mentioned in the past aamir is my favorite actor..but this has nothing to do with him.. Let's keep him away from this..

Yes and it annoys me all the time to see a great story and they shove a useless romance in there or a song for that matter.. In the case of srk who is called the king of romance.. It is always over exegerated.. Over the top and he is known for romance.. So to prove my point he has done the most romantic movie..and he is far from versatility and I blame him for this.. For the past few years.. He has been cashing in of his name.. Nothing worth watching or different beside Rom com.. His next 2 movies will be the same crap specially dilwale..

Arre! Earlier Aamir also used to play same college lover boy running away with lady love and settling in some jhopdi in hills. 😆

Dozens of such films. Only Rangeela and Sarfarosh were saving grace.

After that he took on to preaching on social issues or desh ki haalat. Lagaan, MP, 3I, RDB, PK, TZP etc.

Only success of Ghajini and D3 prove his versatility.

When Aamir was arguing with papa in each film over a girl, SRK was doing stuff like Darr, Anjaam, Baazigar, KHKN that others had chickened out from doing.

So when you consider entire career then both have had their stages of being stuck in certain kinds of roles. Aamir's breaks really blur people's memories I guess. SRK seems to be romantic guy because he doesn't take years of breaks and has done concerts/ads that tap that image.

I brought two of the most MEANINGFUL movies of recent times...just to make a point that even those movies couldn't save themselves from romance...although both of them carried a strong social message and didn't need the romance...I would have used these two movies as an example whether u were an Aamir fan or not...so calm down...lol...
