Before she fell in love with Ranbir Kapoor and moved in with him, Katrina Kaif liked nothing better than being alone at her cozy but well-appointed home in Mumbai. She had her maids and she occasionally stepped out to visit a friend on a day off from shooting.
But otherwise if she isn't shooting Katrina is at home just introspecting, lost in her own thoughts, dressed simply in home clothes a far cry from the femme fatale who rules Bollywood.
"There are days and days when I don't even answer my mother's calls. This show business saps you, drains you of energy. But you know what? There's no other place I'd rather be," she once confided.
What really hurt her were the controversies and gossip, like being dragged into the Ranbir Kapoor - Deepika Padukone relationship. "What have I got to do with it? I hate it when I'm dragged into other people's lives. When I never speak about my own personal life why would I want to be a character in stories about other people's personal relationships?" she protested angrily.
And while we're on things that Katrina Kaif dislikes, the way her unparalleled success ratio is undermined by being dismissed as a matter of luck, really gets her goat.
"It's not as if I was just lucky to be in successful films. Of course I've been lucky. But I've also worked very hard to get where I am. And please don't forget I chose those films that went on to be successful. So please grant me with that bit of intelligence." Before one can react to that she quickly adds, "And by the way, I was advised by friends not to do many of the films that have eventually turned out to be hits."
She admits she sought the help of Salman Khan initially to decide what films to do.
"Not just Salman, I also took the advice of people like Sajid Nadiadwala and David Dhawan. But finally the films I did were my call," says this transparently honest and unpretentiously beautiful
