What is with the sudden influx of Shahid topics in this forum considering how 'insignificant' he is? But anyway, I think Shahid made too many wrong choices in his career in terms of scripts. Some of those movies had 'flop' written all over them. But he is one hell of a performer, very versatile and gets into the skin of the character. He says he's learnt his lesson after Haider and I hope it's true.

For the record, Shahid might not have the fanfollowing of the likes of the Khans who will go to see the film just because they're in it, but he's done pretty well for himself and in the real world, people are still fond of him.

Despite everything, he has cemented a place for himself and it is really unfair to say that he is here only because he is Pankaj Kapur's son or Kareena Kapoor's ex-bf. Then again, I don't know why I was expecting differently from this website.

Oh...thats very easy...

Because he doesnt do guest appearances in 3 films one after another so that he can tell whoever is willing to listen that he has long shelf life

He doesnt shake his bum into camera and wear a dhol to attract eyeballs at any cost

He doesnt pay PR to make 10 MIDs on IF forums and have conversation with each other on 10 threads made by that one person to make it seem like he is still pipular

He looks very young for his age, not haggard and is the best male dancer in Bollywood

He acts so well and has won acclaim for acting, not making OTT faces, and overacting

He has made it on his own, not buttering up heroines or godfathers

He has a life outside of Bollywood, is extremely intelligent and has personality, he is not a male bimbo

looks like he has made people jealous by marrying such a beautiful girl..thats why topics like this..

Any actor who has done films like Ishq Vishk, Kaminey, Haider...has made it in Bollywood. Its not like he did ten minutes role in 45 films.😆

dnt know... i liked him in ishq vishq and chupke chupke and the famous JWM... else never found him good...😕 well will defo add his recent Haider

offscreen though i found him humble so i get surprised whn i hear he is arrogant and rude

yeah he didnt come out as a superstar because of his personality may be.. and he is a gud actor with a gud director only so well i feel he shud ve chosen film with gud directors

And your second statement is exactly why I don't get this whole 'Shahid didn't make it big' business. He is doing very well, thank you very much. Vivah, Kaminey, Haider just reinstated his position as an actor, they did not resurrect his 'dying career'.
Truthfully, the Khans are the only untouched entity whose popularity somehow doesn't seem to diminish. Otherwise Hrithik's craze lessened with Shahid, Shahid's with Ranbir and Ranbir's with Varun; Varun too will be 'outdone' by someone in half a decade. People in the real world still love all these men but it's natural to anticipate more from a newcomer who shows promise. But the older lot is not going anywhere.

Terrible script sense, plus his disasters led him reevaluate his film choices and he tried to opt for the safe route, which doesn't really work. He should have taken more risks.
