This industry is known for fickleness. We have seen already during PZ and Salman's case. It's all about connections, success, power. Shahid has got nothing, yet to give a 100 cr.
At least whoever came I believe were genuine, it's sufficient for him.

Shahid's Ex-flames skip his wedding reception!

The official and the rumoured ex-flames of Shahid Kapoor seem to have given his wedding reception a miss.

No one out of Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and Vidya Balan has been spotted at Shahid's reception yet which was held tonight and is currently underway despite there being reports that all of the actor's exes had been invited to the celebrations.

While Vidya's husband Siddharth Roy Kapoor did make an appearance at the reception, his lovely wife stayed away from the function, for reasons best known to her. Incidentally, Shahid's R.Rajkumar co-star and rumoured ex-girlfriend Sonakshi Sinha too has decided to not attend the reception.

She tweeted her plans to sleep and early, thus confirming her absence. "Ok guys! Time to sleep! Thank you for always putting a smile on my face... 5M today, and skies the limit tomorrow! Gnite," she posted.

Priyanka Chopra, on the other hand, is currently in Bhopal shooting for Prakash Jha's 'Gangaajal 2'

Shahid had poor reception turn out as he has some issues with bollywood folk as there are groups in bollywood. Shahid and Salman Khan had a tiff due to some issue so do not expect Salman's family and friends to visit his reception. Kapoors and Soha would not come he is Kareena's ex.
Deepika, Anushkha and Sania are in UK for Wimbledon. Karan johar would not go to a small fry's reception. Even Mumbai socialites and industrialists would not bother as Shahid is not mega star. Above all he is a son of a character artists not a superstar. So Bollywood does not bother for Shahid but definitely cares for launches of random star kids

Shahid was talking to one of the contestants and complimenting them on a great performance.. meanwhile Karan was sulking sitting next to him, probably because he can't believe he has to judge the show with Shahid. Shahid and Manish were having a friendly banter about not asking people about their weight and Shahid said something jokingly at Karan's expense (in a friendly manner) and Karan looked so put off by it.

Karan is a snob and hypocrite of the highest order. He likes to talk about the industry being a family when he jumps at the occasion of stirring the pot for his own entertainment and causing arguments between celebs.

He's only happy when the likes of Kareena are bending over backwards for one more crap movie or item song from him...only to ruin her career further.

I'm sure Shahid has done things in the past that have rubbed people the wrong way but so have others and the only reason they are allowed to get away with it is because ya know..they're friends or they used to go to each other's birthday parties when they were little.

Anyways, it's always a happy occasion when someone gets married and they are celebrating a new beginning. Hopefully, they have both found the right partner in each other to build a good, solid, happy life with.

If you have only two good friends and your family showing up and they genuinely want to celebrate with you, than that's a better thing than celebrating with 500 people who only showed up for the sake of keeping up appearances.

Salman was a sweetheart to him and promoted Phata Poster and Haider with Shahid in the most "happy" way. Salman choses who he wants to call on the show. Not only did he promote but he danced on his songs throughout.

But Shahid didn't turn up at Arpita's wedding. Was he invited? If he was and he decided not to show, then that could be a reason.

and also there never has been any major news regarding any Tiff. Unless it wasn't important.

There was some issue between Salman and Shahid regarding something! Not clear what it was, but something to do with a world tour they were both part of. Shahid apparently passed some comment on Salman and that got reported to him somehow and he was upset with Shahid on the same. I am guessing that got sorted out eventually.

Very likely, the reason why these senior guys haven't turned up is because Shahid never goes to their Diwali / Iftaar / film success parties ect that they keep having. I mean, I don't remember seeing Shahid attending any of them, hence assuming that he doesn't go.

Turn out was good. His close friends were there. Just that those who he wasn't really close were not there...and i am sure he doesn't give a damn..
he is someone who never licked feet of industry people in bollywood and we should appreciate that...many were not in India too...obviously, his exes won't be there...
I am just happy that Ranveer despite shooting long day and night for Bajirao turned up at the reception in the end...the guy loves everyone equally...
