Bullshit Salman was never offered the role of devdas. I still remember SLB said in an interview that SRK was the first choice for this role as he resembles Dilip kumar a lot.

It is a masterpiece. It was like musical theatre..grand, theatrical and absolutely stunning. The music and visuals were blended in such a way that it was nothing short of poetry.

Among performances, Aishwarya totally stole the show.The finale was simply beautiful! I was glad when it became the only Indian film to be ranked among the greatest 10 films of this millennium.

+1 😆 had the misfortune of watching in cinema, could not wait for this movie to finish.

The entire cast was hamming, the only one who did not was Madhuri.

lastly, the original novel had no mention of the imaginary nacha gana family , that SLB made to put his dance numbers. If you say creative liberty, then I would say it ruined the essence of the main novel. Its like making harry and Hermione date in HP movies, something that never happened in novel. There is a limit to which liberties can be taken, beyond it, its just ruining the book and showing your version while borrowing the author's name.

Anywho to each his own.

Despite the incongruous insertion, the whole more Piya sequence, imo is one of the best dance sequence/love /erotica/ multiple message sequence in bw.

That aside, to each his own. You won't change your mind, and neither will I.
