Varun Dhawan's Dishoom avoids clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Fan; will not release on April 15, 2016!

Yesterday King Khan unveiled the first teaser of his much awaited film directed by Maneesh Sharma. And soon we realised that SRK will come woo his fans in theatres next summer. Guess what we also found out that Rohit Dhawan's movie is NOT releasing on the said date...

Has a clash between Diwale actors Varun Dhawan and Shah Rukh Khan been averted? Certainly looks like the makers of Dishoom do not want a face-off with King Khan at the box office. When Yash Raj Films revealed the teaser of Shah Rukh's fan the film's release date was out too. The teaser announced that SRK will be in theatres next year on April 15. Soon after an official statement from Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment announced that their upcoming filmDishoom will release sometime in 2016. The release date is not confirmed yet.' For those of you who are not aware, initial reports suggested that Varun and Jacqueline Fernandes starrer was to hit the screens on April 15 2016, the same day as Shah Rukh Khan's Fan.

Clearly, the Dishoom team did not want to fight a fight at the box-office, especially not when it is a YRF film featuring Shah Rukh Khan. Also it is only intelligent of a production house to aim for a solo release and avoid a revenue clash with a big project starring a Bollywood superstar. Varun has proved his mettle as an actor and his film might have even managed to give a tough competition, however it was wise to stay away from a clash of this kind. Whether it was after Fan's release date announcement or otherwise, the fact that these two movies are not coming on the same day is a win-win situation for everyone.

Varun's Dishoom also features John Abraham and Akshay Khanna, while SRK will be paired opposite Bollywood debutante Waluscha D'Souza in Fan.
