Hey all. As a fan expecting average reviews but hoping the dance is praised hence what movie is promising and win the fans and general audiences with magical dance sequences. We need a Indian version of Step Up series. With the hype ABCD 2 has. It may just do it
Good luck to the team of Varun, Shraddha, Remo, Prabhu, Lauren, all DID/JDJ dancers and finally Disney India/UTV!! Have expectations for BO

Komal Nahta @KomalNahta

My personal opinion: ABCD2 is looking magical. UTV, Remo, Varun, Shraddha, Prabhu Dheva will show their kamaal, am sure.

Komal Nahta @KomalNahta

The buzz for ABCD2 is growing phenomenally. Overseas, UTV was to release it in 300 screens. Then, they decided on 350. Now, it's 411!! Wow!!

Saw this movie, loved it, dance was AWESOME, especially watching it on the big screen in 3D was amazing, although sometimes there were too much dance scenes.
I especially loved the Charlie Chaplin dance and the Bezubaan dance.
But don't know why they didn't explain the cheating part at the beginning. Why did they copy the steps?
It was such a pleasure to watch Raghav, how cute is he 😳
I was really holding my breath in the climax.. really beautiful ending!

And one thing really needs to be said
Varun Dhawan has arrived as the next superstar! This man can do everythinggg, cant believe this is the same guy from Badlapur! He danced like a dream, looked incredibly hot (his shirtless entry scene damn his sixpack is just wow), and his acting is just fantastic! I have rooted for him and loved him since the beginning and I knew from SOTY that this guy will be a star one day! 👏

ABCD2 review :
-------------------------SPOILERS AHEAD--------------------------
First of all I was sceptical whether I should watch it in theatres or not but the price was very low so I decided to watch and I more than elated that I chose the best film I can to watch in theatres. This was absolutely magical. Thank god I didn't read any review before watching .
The film is MAGICAL. A MUST WATCH for anybody who loves dance. Also people who don't like dance wont be bored at all. I went with 4 cousins and no one likes dance/VD/Sallu i.e exact opposite to me but all were thoroughly entertained. I expected some criticism, jibes, mocking but nothing happened. This film is a VISUAL SPECTACLE and remo's presentation is fantastic through out the film.
Story : The film started on perfect note IMO. After reading about the storyline I thought the cheating scene will be in the middle but the film started with that. That gave the film full chance to show their complete journey from India to LA.

Some moments are truly hillarious in the film:

Like when the group starts convincing PD for coaching them. 😆
And another one when audience went mad when they were auditioning dancers and in BG a bhojpuri song was playing 🤣.

Simple and perfect story for a dance film. If you are expecting a strong story you probably will be disappointed because story is secondary and dance is primary here. Story is perfect for a dance film. Not too simple not too complicated although you will find it predictable sometimes. The story has a perfect mix of comedy, romance, emotions, drama, little bit of suspense and a lot of dance.
Dance: The SOUL of the film. Never seen such high quality dancing in a bollywood movie. That's what you call a Dance MOVIE. Finally we have world class dance movie, If ABCD was the start then ABCD2 just killed it.
The best part of the movie as mentioned by many other people is definitely the climax. IMO this was Chak De India level Climax. The best climax I have seen after Chak de India.
Maybe I like it a lot because patriotism in a movie always always works for me but they did really well to embed patriotism. I got goosebumps during the end. And many people in the hall gave standing ovation to the ending sequence.

Actors: varun is an awesome team man, Even after being the lead role I didn't feel like he was overshadowing other actors . But Shradhha Kapoor is the star of the movie for me. The effort and hardwork clearly shows in the movie. She danced really really well and was sometimes shown more than VD. Some of the moves she pulled off left people awestruck 😲.Varun Shraddha have an awesome chemistry, after a long time I found a really endearing, cute and sizzling chemistry between the leads.
Supporting cast were really really good . Raghav was hilarious as a comic character.👍🏼😆 Dharmesh punit paul sushant all were very good in their characters. Remo seems to have some problem with punit, in first film he killed punit and in this he was dumb and deaf and also had a medical problem where he was spitting blood.
Although it was almost perfect but Lauren should have been given more space. Prabhudeva acting and diction were bad but his dance makes up for everything, you will tolerate anything to see PD dance.
Varun has made a huge fanbase for himself and his star power is on the rise. The theater environment was similar to a typical bhai film. Shouting hooting clapping . It was madness. 👏

My rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️ The best ever movie i watched in theaters. This movie deserves a theater watch, you can watch online or TV but no way you will get the feel of the film.

Forgot to mention: There is also a scene where they insterted CNWK. 😆

ABCD 2 Set To Emerge Second Big Hit Of The Year
Saturday 20 June 2015 23.30 IST

ABCD 2 is set to emerge the second big hit of the year after Tanu Weds Manu Returns. The film has held firm on Saturday with collections likely to be over 14 crore nett again and may even go to 14.50 crore nett. The film has shown solid growth on Saturday especially in Delhi and Kolkatta while some centers have dropped but that is normal as opening was very good.

The film has advantage of 3D prints which are notching up very high occupancies all over. These screening are also practically full for Sunday barring the weak evening and night shows.

ABCD 2 will easily be going over 45 crore nett for the weekend and has an good window in front of it with the next big release four weeks away. The main reason that it probably wont be able to chase down the Tanu Weds Manu Returns total despite the window is because that film was patronized by the family audience while this is more for the youth. Films for family audiences tend to sustain better than films aimed for the youth audience.

Saw the movie thanks to unexpected holiday coz of rains
The movie delivers what it promises..good to amazing dance sequences..varun is very good, shraddha is way better than expected.. Dharmesh and puneets introduction sequences are really good and Lauren is underutilized
The story is straightforward.. direction OK..
The comedy bit in 1st half is good
The second half drags..IMHO there was no need for the love triangle and the song on grand canyon
There are couple other things which are unnecessary/unexplained

But overall it delivers on the dance front.. The dance sequences are well thought out and executed

PS: for a day where its pouring as it is, the theatre had 3/4th occupancy

So about last night...

I want to start with negatives first so I can gush through the rest of the review and end on a good note lol. Okay so, the length. That's one of the main problems - don't get me wrong - I loved seeing all the other teams dancing and I guess Remo wanted to display all of that in a single movie but they could've made it more crisp. Although it was good dancing, It was getting pretty tedious 🥱 The dialogues - I didn't like some of them. I thought they could've been better but the dance made up for it. Also they should've explained why they cheated... since that phrase was used throughout the film.. Prabhudeva's dialogue delivery - facepalm... he does okay with long sentences but suffers when he has to say few words. 😊

Alright... let the fangirling begin. VARUN!!! ❤️ My Rohan, my Seenu, my Humpty, my Raghu and now my Suru. So proud of this guy. He lead the team very well and I thought he did awesomely in some of the emotional scenes and when he was delivering inspiring speeches. "Maara.. maara? Toh maarna!" That was funny. 😆 He also dances like a dream. Watching Chunar on the big screen in 3D was amazing... I got a bit emotional when the mother's form disappears into feathers. The 3 girls next to me were completely floored in Varun's entry scene... I was too. What a beautiful man. 😳

SHRADDHA!!! <3 OMG. What a GORGEOUS girl. ❤️ Her figure... goals. LOL. 😆 She kept up well with the boys and had great camaraderie with all of them especially Punit. And I was mighty impressed with her dialogue delivery and expressions. She nailed that. I believe Varun and Shraddha brought the best outta each other ⭐️

I need a whole new paragraph to address the chemistry. 😆 Anyone else blushing whenever Varun and Shraddha had scenes by themselves? Like I couldn't control. 😆 They were just so cute and innocent and pure and made for each other. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way Shraddha looks at Suru throughout the film like at the end of Sun Sathiya and Naach Meri Jaan Naach. ❤️ I can't describe the mushiness I was feeling. Okay now I may sound perverse but when the song promos and stuff released, they'd always fade to black whenever Shraddha and Varun's lips touched... so I was always thinking: Oh, they're keeping the kissing scene under wraps coz it must be so epic... but nope, it was literally 2 seconds. 😆 Sun Sathiya on the big screen was EPIC. 👏⭐️ Shraddha's dedication is evident.

Lauren was quite good in her role - I really liked her song Tattoo and her small scene with Shraddha... also she got to slap Varun's butt. 👍🏼😆 Punit was good - his scene with Shraddha about Suru being her boyfriend is adorable. 😳

Story - maybe people would disagree with me but I was expecting far less than what I got. I thought India was gonna win the hip hop championship and my heart literally skipped a beat when they all fell... I was in my seat saying: "No... no...no..." when the camera cut to Dharmesh and Punit who was coughing. The finale dance was AMAZING. I heard one lady say "WOW" in the row behind me. ⭐️

Direction - I should have never doubted Remo - he actually made a good enough film and filled it with entertaining pieces. The choreography was OUTSTANDING. BEST EVER in a Bollywood film. ⭐️ I loved that the other dancers were also given their moments to shine and for most of the songs, they performed as a team and it wasn't just Shraddha or Varun in the front. Songs were good :) Naach meri jaan naach hook step is pretty cool. I know it doesn't involve much technicalities but it's my favorite step. Oh and the Charlie Chaplin performance was fun! 😃

As a fan of Varun, I've so loved being part of the journey thus far. Every film he does merits my affection for him. And I'm extremely proud of his success. ❤️ He must be over the moon. KJo, can you kick Alia out of Shuddhi and replace her with Shraddha? I want them to sign something together again coz I needed more of that. I mean I know the movie was supposed to be about dance primarily but I need to see them in a romcom... they have the sweetest chemistry together. 😆😳

I just realized I forgot to mention the music directors.. Sachin Jigar... give it up for them... FANTASTIC music... they had a lot to do in the film and were essential to the vision and I think they gave amazing music. ⭐️

I'd give the film 4/5. A must see for people who love dance - it's got all the elements for an entertaining film dance, songs, eye candy, comedy, drama, romance, spectacular visuals in 3D and talented people. If you don't like dancing, then yes, you may feel there's too much dancing so bear that in mind. I'm just so elated it took a good opening and I hope the momentum sustains so that more dance films can be made. Glad I caught it on the first day. YAY for team ABCD 2 ❤️❤️

Look at the big poster: ⭐️ Theatre was around 75% full. 😃

ETA - Sorry for length 😆

I watched it and loved it!!

I liked ABCD1, but was a bit disappointed in terms of choreography considering v had such good dancers. But ABCD2 impressed me choreography wise as well.
Loved the entire cast of actors as well as dancers. It was a packed show for 10:30 in morning..
Ok first things first...
Hooting, Clapping & Whistles:
1. No surprises here, the loudest cheers went to Dharmesh and Punit's entry.. When they entered, the theatre erupted in cheers & when they completed their solo dances, people were completely in awe.
2. When Vinnie started with her Sun Saathiya number. It was like people(especially guys) were waiting for that.
3. Bezubaan. Honestly wasn't impressed much when the promo released, but on big screen it was something else. People went crazy throughout the song. 👏
4. Lauren's entry. That girl is such a brilliant dancer. Her entry was sexy. Honestly I went for Sun Saathiya and came back impressed with Tattoo song. 👍🏼
5. Obviously the climax of finale act. When Punit returns back and so does everybody... Goosebumps all the way..
Performances:
1. Varun oh Varun..He is so effortless, natural and expressive. Be it acting or dancing. He just blended with the rest of the team. Neither he overshadowed the dancers nor did he disappear in the crowd. He was one of them. His chemistry with everyone was good. Be it Vernon(Sushant), Raghav, Punit or Shraddha & Lauren.
2. Shraddha looked gorgeous in each and every frame. Thankfully she didn't had long dialogues, so her delivery wasn't an issue this time. She did her part well. Her chemistry with Suruu was so damn cute ❤️ wish there were more scenes of them...
3. DID stars. Dharmesh and Raghav had such great comic timing. Every time they threw a punch, audience were in splits. Their slapping scene was the best. 😆
Punit did his deaf/dumb act so well. I had a tear in my eye in the end when he realizes that the team was let down bcoz of him. Kudoss to him.. 👏
4. Prabhudeva. People say they had a prblm with his accent and diction, but I have a lot of south indian frnds & colleagues and their hindi is not that good either.. It's very broken and sometyms with heavy accent. Vishnu is shown as a proper Tamilian so his diction was ought to be that way IMO.
Story
There wasn't much considering it was a dance fest throughout. But there was never a dull moment. I might be in minority but I didn't mind the Prabhudeva's backstory and love triangle track. Coz without that waise bhi story mein kuch nahi tha. Yes the dance became a bit repetitive in the end, could have been edited a bit but overall I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it for a one time much.
U might not enjoy it much on ur TV/Laptop as much as on the big screen. So go for it 😊
(Sorry for going on and on 😛)
PS: Happy Birthday was not included in the muvi? 😕 nd what abt Bezuban Shraddha's version?
