Why cant older actresses in BW look like this ?? - Page 5

The fault lies in society. I don't find anything wrong with drooling over older individuals if they're attractive, men OR women.

Women still drool over Srk, Salman, Aamir, that's fine. But I wish the older actresses were given a chance at least. Desi mentality.

And I've never been a JA fan. Couldn't stand her on Friends either Plus, I always thought Brad Pitt was too good for her. 😆

I dont understand this bit .. 😕 .. Sridevi , Madhuri & now Aishwarya - all over 40 & have been given chances .. Sri emerged a winner , Aish remains to be seen .. Hema Malini tasted success post motherhood .. Madhuri's act as a seductress post 40 in dedh ishqiya failed , Sridevi ( who btw is well maintained except for the horrible nose ) played an age appropriate role in English Vinglish and won accolades .. chances were given & results are out .. women post 40 cannot play flowerpot roles ( lol ..funny how flowerpot roles becomes respect-worthy according to changing context 😆) but yeah , if they have the talent & superstardom to pull off character based roles , they will be given chances , unfortunately though it never makes as much money as a male denominated film would make , in fact the bars are itself set lower for women oriented films .. and i dont think it has anything to do with lack of chances but everything to do with audience preferences .. this debate around audience preferences was on in this forum just a while ago.. if you want to label audience preferences as sexist or ethically wrong then by all means go ahead and blame the mentality but do not blame the Bollywood industry , blame the audience it caters to .. although to be honest , i dont see how people can throw hissy fits around someone's "preferences" ..

I would agree with that, had it not been for the fact that in Hollywood, an Angelina Jolie movie still gets a lot more hype and recognition than the younger lot.

Actresses in 40s are given killer roles, in not just "artsy" films, but mainstream, high budget, stellar movies. They're paired with the superstar males as well, unlike our Khan heroes who refuse to work with women their own age and prefer the younger and younger girls.

It's bollywood producers and ALSO audience mentality. How often have we read, "aunty" on this forum when it comes to Aish? or if you randomly go through facebook or youtube comments, you'll come across, "She's an aunty now" for actresses like Kareena even.

It's double standards.

If it's an American movie, these same men will drool, but when it comes to our girls, they put on blinkers. And producers follow suit and continue to go with what they perceive audiences will like.

A few "Queen", "TWM", an English Vinglish, or select Vidya films now doesn't change anything. It's a few here and there, far in between. That's why they get noticed.

Madhuri & Juhi may have a prettier face ( especially juhi ⭐️ ) but they do not however have the body to compete with these Holly celebs & i think that was the point which the TM was trying to make .. a toned body & maintenance exudes its own sex appeal .. it can even make up for the lack of a pretty face to certain extent ..
