Salman cheated on Sangeeta and Somi too. They left him as well but he didn't care because he was done with them anyway. With Ash it was different because she left him when he was still madly in love with her. He is a messed up person .. in KWK he mentioned that after Sangeeta broke up with him just before their wedding, someone told him that there are 'lot of fishes in the pond' which basically means that there are other women he could date/sleep with. He was young when Sangeeta left him. He was still interested in dating other women, that is why instead of trying to save his relationship with Sangeeta, he chose to listen to his friend and went after 'other fishes in the pond'. But when Ash happened, he was sort of older, looking forward to settling down and well everyone wanted to end up with the 'most beautiful woman in the world' .. it was just the time for him to settle and what better trophy than Ash. He was no doubt madly in love with her .. she was young, had the world at her feet, could get any man she wanted .. she just didn't want to be with Salman. She also used to play lot of emotional games with him by meeting him and then not meeting him etc. .. basically driving him mad even more. Salman is like a real bad person anyway .. he probably didn't even understand what he was doing and how he was treating his ladies was wrong all along. He is just that batshit psycho who enjoyed all the drama he did. Basically he just is badly brought up person with no regard/respect/honesty and doesn't even knows to behave properly. Ash didn't like it .. she is way to refind and well-behaved and obviously couldn't connect to his psycho mentality. Who is to say if Salman wouldn't have been fine with Ash dumping him after he was emotionally over her or after he found another prettier one. Its just that when she dumped him, he wasn't yet over her. She was one woman he had finally fallen in love with but Karma gave him back by f***ing him the way he had f***ed his previous lovers. He was no saint, so I say I got no sympathy for him. And there is no guarantee that he wouldn't have abused Ash even further even if she would have stayed put with him. His ways of honoring his love and commitment to women probably comes from his own father (who is another douchebag). They are not really the respectable/honourable men. The ways of the industry and their own success just makes them insensitive and arrogant to the core.
With Katrina it was a bit different .. he did try to exercise control over her and succeeded to certain extent but she did not put up with a lot of shit. And by the time he started dating Katrina, he was much older and more patient with the women (he had learnt from his past) and Katrina was much younger and had more power in the relationship. She got success pretty fast and a lot of it. So, she didn't even need him anymore but like a well-behaved person, she did maintain her nice behavior to him because of course she did not want him to bring up her past in public or try to spoil her career. He just couldn't do much this time because well he probably had learnt his lessons and had more to worry about legally than just the black buck case. He was being tried for a drunk driving accident as well. With all the Being Human shit going on, he was in no position to afford more controversies of treating women wrong anymore. He does take jibes at Kat every now and then. He really can't do much anymore. His past and his karmas are really going to keep his hands tied.
