I disagree...KJo HAS supported low budget, content oriented, unpretentious and honest movies in the past like The Lunchbox for example. Its also true he only lent his name and perhaps some money since he doesnt understand this kind of cinema at all. But I agree he wants them all to be done by industry kids so that the fame and money remains within the' family'.

And why does he say BO figures shouldn't be audience concern?

Why did he bombard news channels with news of MNIK "beating" 3 Idiots on the day of its release itself?

I was laughing and wondering how the hell did they know it beat 3I, when not even FDFS reports are out yet!

You bombard us with news on TV and papers and then say we should not bother about collections? 😆

I hate his rants on industry being family. None of his actions hint at family like behaviour.

My statement was a general one. He is an old-school type behind all his pretences of being modern and forward thinking. What I meant was that he probably does not like the idea of these upstarts and outsiders like Anand Rai and the guy who directed NH10 getting both praise and BO success for their films. The continuous success of smaller films are in some way an indication that people now want to see a different kind of film from the kinds that Karan normally makes and believes in.

I don't dislike Karan, its just that he is so judgemental in himself, that its very difficult not to pass a judgement on him when such an oppourtunity occurs!

Described Karan Johar really well. He is a guy who hates outsiders in Bollywood and cannot bear the sucess of any low budget good movie. He reeks of jealousy.
