In first season of KWK he himself admitted his career was no great shakes.

And not to digress, but Rishi Kapoor was and is most definitely a huge star. One could argue that for a certain period after Amitabh Bachchan he was number two. His height and his cutesy chocolate face looks made him somewhat typecast, but he was/is a very talented actor. And he was sort of like SRK and Salman where he played romantic hero against younger girls as long as he could 😆
