Hrithik's next with YRF... another franchise in the making?

Like the Dhoom series, YRF is planning to launch another action franchise starring Roshan Jr

Nayandeep Rakshit

Hrithik Roshan and Yash Raj Films are teaming up again. According to insiders, the deal has already been signed and the action thriller will be along the lines of the Dhoom series. It is learnt that this film will be on a bigger scale than Dhoom in terms of action, suspense and stunts.

While Hrithik's Bang Bang had received poor reviews, the action sequences were appreciated and with the YRF film, the actor wants to go a step further. "If Bang Bang's action sequences had set your heart pumping, then this will make it skip several beats," the source adds. "Dhoom 3 had Aamir playing the villain and it made more money. But undoubtedly, it was Hrithik's Dhoom 2, which is considered a better film. Dhoom 2 still stands out as the best installment in the franchise. That's why Adi has made plans of getting him on board for this action film."

So why not a Dhoom 4 instead? Because Aditya Chopra has bigger plans' claims the source. "Dhoom has been done. Now there needs to be another series that sends the audiences' pulse racing. The film that Adi has planned with Hrithik, will be turned into a franchise film in the future. But unlike Dhoom, this will have only Hrithik in it as the central character in its sequels, like a Dabangg and Krrish."

Hrithik will need to flaunt a chiselled body yet another time in the series. "Hrithik has always been fit, but with this thriller, he is expected to follow a strict regimen and achieve a particular body shape " one which people have never seen him in before." The yet-to-be-titled flick will be helmed by Dhoom 3 director Vijay Krishna Acharya and cutting edge technology will be used to design the action sequences'. "The makers are in talks with stunt experts from Hollywood and are planning to make it on a lavish budget." Announcements of the same will be made soon.

This VK Acharya is a TERRIBLE director...Dhoom 3 was very poorly written and directed...he makes Bang Bang wala director Siddharth look like a genius in comparison.

I dunno why HR wants to do this, or why D3 director has been chosen... cuz D3 was so bad it wasnt even funny. I dont think he had it in him to make good action thrillers.

Can't believe Vicky Acharya was the writer of Pyar Ke Side Effects.

----

Btw, Dhoom:3's actions looked 10X better than Bang Bang's or any other action movie of BW made in last few years. So, as a director of action movie he didn't fail.

HR wanting to do it is not surprising since he seems to be in the mood to do more action films and Dhoom 2 remains one of his biggest hits.

What I'm confused about is why YRF keeps giving this Acharya guy so many chances...Dhoom 3 was terrible on so many levels I can't even begin to count😕😕...and the action was very wannabeish...again, Bang Bang had far better directed action sequences...isse achha toh us director ko hi le lete.

They all seem obsessed with action films, maybe cuz they'll never truly go out of fashion?

Cuz Dhoom made big money so more films for Acharya. I think Bang Bang had some Hollywood director direct the action sequences...
