Vivek Oberoi (L) and Sameera Reddy in Naksha (2006) It seems like his past actions have come to haunt Bollywood hunk Vivek Oberoi. The one-time Aishwarya Rai beau has now been ditched by old flame Gurpreet Gill, who plans to tie the knot with Swiss banker Daniel, on November 6. In a story that appeared in the Mumbai Times of India on Saturday, Oberoi's old flame shared: "We (Daniel and I) met at a bank event in Mumbai exactly fourteen months ago. There was instant chemistry. But I was cautious. I didn't want my heart to be broken again," she revealed, talking about how Oberoi had dumped her for Ash. "I feel sorry for the guy (Viveik), she added. Vivek Oberoi's professional career has been a roller coaster ride this year. The 30-year-old actor came into his own earlier with a creditable performance in Vishal Bhardwaj's
Omkara a critically acclaimed film that did well at the BO. However his most recent film,
Naksha bombed putting his career back where it was at the beginning of this year - in the dumps. The good news for the actor may well be the fact that his love life, also in the dumps, is finally looking up. While Oberoi may not have picked up too many credit points for the
Naksha he is reported to have become romantically linked with the ravishing Sameera Reddy, his co-star in the film. When quizzed about it, Reddy did not reveal much. "Earlier, I used to really get bugged if I was linked to my co-stars, but now, I get worried if I am not linked with them," she said and went on to add: "I read it and laughed a lot, that's about it. Earlier there was no guy to love, now there is no time to love!"
Son of veteran actor Suresh Oberoi, Vivek made his debut in Ram Gopal Varma's Company in 2002. The film came in for praise and his performance was noticed. He bagged the Filmfare Awards in the Best Debut as well as the Best Supporting Actor category. He starred in action films, Road and Dum, in which his performance came in for praise. Other notable films included Saathiya (2002), Masti (2004) and Kaal (2005)
