they r indeed friends and i feel there is a special place for each other, a sweet relationship.. WHICH is not romantic at all.. its just a certain comfort and knowing each other from a time before they made it big.. they know who each others real nature is before they were stars..
I don't know about RS's personal life too much to comment on it, but Anushka is in a very serious and secure relationship with Virat which has actually changed her as a person to the better a lot and what I see with Ranveer and her off screen is totally the buddy/bro vibe as u said..

I am very happy they are again so comfy with each other.. hopefully we will get them sharing screen space in future too cz they r indeed each other's best pairing on screen.
