This article states that Kareena is current generation actress. LOL.. I bet she can play Alia's mother. LOL..

Even Aishwarya who is 41 looks younger than Kareena.

Kareena is now irrelevant to bollywood. What a shame she agreed to do a supporting behenji role in Udta Punjab where Alia is the heroine. Okay.. Aishwarya is also doing supporting lead in ADHM but Kareena is 35 while Aishwarya is 41. Its hard for senior actresses to get leading role in big films. Even Kajol is doing a multistarrer where Varun-Kriti are another lead.
So nowhere you can say Kareena is a current generation actress. Aishwarya, Kajol, Vidya, Kareena and Priyanka (although she still has 2 / 3 years in bollywood) fall under senior actresses.

What is the next news? "Kajol is pregnant again?"
