Don't give me the BS that Laxman supported blah blah. Of course one'd expect colleagues to be supportive. But look at this with an objective POV, you'd know who's in the wrong.

Kohli is arrogant and obnoxious and has a stinky personality.

Sorry to butt in but I have a question..

Hows Kohli 'abusing'/shouting/yelling/misbehaving with a Journalist (leaving the fact aside that Media DOES get too personal at times), has gotta do with Kohli talking sense and supporting his girlfriend who has been a target of more than-crores-of-Indians in Social Networking Sites ? From where does the early incident pop-in in the whole argument of whether Anushka was to be blamed or not ?

If Viraat is arrogant, obnoxious and has stinky personality, so Anushka is to be blamed for that ? Or Virat shouted at a Journalist 2 years back, hence he can not say ANY right thing about anyone throughout his life ? Is that what can be concluded from this discussion ?😛

Please butt in at your will.

But I don't think your comment is relevant to mine.

We lost because entire team under performed. Period. Rahane scored less runs than him in WC. I don't see anyone bashing him. In fact people think he'd be captain because he is calm 😆 Being calm doesn't make you a great captain automatically. But that's how some people think

Some people didn't even understand why he was pointing out the fact that he has won more matches for team india last five years. They are calling him arrogant, He was trying to point out that his contributions to the team were being reduced to nothing due to one failure. I saw nothing wrong in what he said and he certainly didn't put down any of his team mates, He looked far from arrogant when he said that. If people took the time to watch the 2 min clip, they'd see that. But they'd rather read a quote and bash him. The point is, you can not expect people to give someone a benefit of doubt because they have already decided he is self absorbed and arrogant.

All i gotta say if bravo Virat for speaking up for Anushka. It takes a brave heart to do something like this. 👏

Totally agree with you..

And I also disagree with the logic that when all the credit goes to him when he plays well and gets the match won, then why shouldnt he take all responsibility when team fails ? This is a FLAWED logic.. There is Man of the Match, but there NEVER is Loser of the Match.. Because when a team's losing it's equal responsibility of EVERYONE to try to hold it up..

Anyways, this year's response or reactions from our country people really didnt shock me.. When people don't leave Sachin-Saurav-Dravid-Laxman-Kumble from left-right-centre bashing after losing ANY match, Virat Co. are still kids 😃 All I gotta say, with blaming Anushka after WC loss we reached a NEW height of lowness as Indians 👏😃

P.S - Kudos to all the people in Social Media/Networks who accepted the defeat gracefully and gave all credit to the Team who played the ENTIRE series so fantastically 👏 Glad to see that many of us have been mature enough to handle defeat by not burning the players' pictures, doing dharna in fronta their homes and what not.. Definitely progressive and hugs to them 👏

Exactly. No one gave Anushka any credit when he scored centuries in Melbourne and Sydney. She sat and watched him play for 10 days then. But people have selective memory. They will focus on this one failure in her presence.

And I agree. When all former legends have been criticized before Virat is just a kid. The difference is he is very straight forward and wears his heart on his sleeve. He is candid about his feelings unlike former players who would stay quiet in the face of criticism. The guy has a lot of guts to slam the media and hateful fans knowing he'd be bashed further by haters.

And thank God there are some sane fans who understand that at the end of the day, its just a game. He is human and can not perform in every match no matter how consistent he has been last 5 years. Its a tragedy that he scored 5 centuries during 4 months in Australia and he is still being trashed by cricket fanatics.

Maybe you don't understand that these celebrities are HUMAN too and they have the media n cameras shoved in their faces 24/7, so at times they are going to react. The media said he apologized through another journalist, and maybe after a few days he did apologize directly but no one knows the truth unless they were actually there, as media also shows what they want to show esp in this case as one of their own was attacked.

You said he is arrogant, obnoxious, stinking personality...but no where did u mention that he is a a bad sportsman or bad cricketer or awful batman...those are the things we can really comment on. His personality is something subjective, some will like it and some won't. just how we all have our preferences in bollywood stars. he obviously doesnt give a shit if you like him or not

Virat's personal life has been attacked twice now...and in both cases none of his team mates came out to defend him. They all saw that a young woman was being disrespected for their mistakes as a team. But no one of them ever said anything to support Virat. If it had been any of their wives going through this they would understand. So when virat said he has been the most consistent player in last 5 years n helped in most wins...his colleagues deserve this for not being man enough n supporting their team mate.

So you can give the same excuse to Salman for killing people by saying it is only human to make a mistake and he was only being human?

When did I dispute the fact that Kohli isn't human? Of course he is, and humans can be good or bad. And he just displayed his bad behaviour at an innocent person and that's what I am criticizing him on.

I do not watch cricket much, but if he is a fine player then good for him and his team, but that does not in anyway make his foul personality any better.

I gotta say this, people who have actually spent time with him have nothing but nice things to say about him. SRK called him a gentleman and very sweet guy before IPL opening ceremony. Dean Jones told NDTV today, he had breakfast with VK a couple times during Australia tour and he likes him. He also said he admires him because he showed up for Phil Hughes funeral when he didn't have to.

Media makes a big deal about his very few outbursts and paints him to be this angry boy who can't control his emotions. There might be some truth to it but I do not think he is anywhere close to this aggressive, obnoxious guy press wants everyone to believe he is. He is always photographed having fun with his team mates during practice. And clearly, his team mates speak highly of him as Vijay came out and said he learned a lot from him when they were chasing the target on day 5 during adelaide test. Rahane also said he decided to go for his shots because he and rest of the guys were told by Virat to go for their shots and not play defensively. But the press never picked up and credited him for that. And why would they? They would rather use Virat is arrogant headlines to sell papers. 😡
