Yes in the second video, its mantra the rj.

How many more videos would be made to counterattack this? If the issue of woman empowerment and sexual liberalisation of woman was used to gather reactions and thus leading mileage and momentum for a upcoming film, must say pathetic and pukeworthy attempt. Everything is not for publicity yaar.

@pinkeye

Yoi are right.

Such videos are only going to harm the cause of women.

Already there had been stereotypes attached to city girls, educated and working girls. After this video some opportunists are increasingly sharing stats and news reports about rise of abortions among teenage girls, rich women encouraging male prostitution, rise in sale of contraceptives, cases of women stealing money and jewellery from own house and eloping with lover etc. As if to generalise how all of today's women are dangerous and have taken #MyChoice to extreme level.
The MRAs and Save the Indian Family type organisations got a shot in the arm after this video. They always claim today's girls are spoiled and it is the men and children who are in danger (lines in #MyChoice shit seem worse when you think about kids).

It seems hypocritical that on one hand we have campaigns on rethinking masculinity, asking men to respect women, support them, lean in etc and on other hand a video comes up that tries to justify same behaviour as #MyChoice for which even men used to be criticised and asked to change.

Such stuff just causes undue conflict and tension between both genders.

We have many men who are fighting gender discrimination and started campaigns against rape, eve teasing, domestic violence etc. Some have begun to make fun of them as they are asked look who they are fighting for.

This is going to increase male chauvinism, make people rethink on freedom given to girls and its consequences, give rise to unnecessary fears and stereotypes.

I am relieved this video is in English and is only online. It would be worse if it were in Hindi and aired on national TV.

Just as men had to try and clarify that all men are not like Mukesh Singh and ML Sharma, after that documentary. Now women have to clarify all of them are not #MyChoice types.

These celebs were never respected or taken seriously by people. Now they are bashed even more. Honestly, no normal Indian family would want a lifestyle like them or the kind of lifestyle they promote through their films and videos.

I don't want to see #MyChoice type men or women in my family.

We need initiatives that take everyone together to cooperate towards change instead of feeding a "us vs them" mentality.

Just because I have one, doesn't mean I am one 🤣 Nailed it!

The expressions they are giving are so funny. Copied the original video so well!

Videos like my choice really messes up the whole thing...now hardly anyone will take women empowerment seriously.

This shows the growing intolerance of our society
One can have hundred reasons to dislike something but that can be propagated in a more healthy manner. Continual mocking of something, slamming a person even at personal level for a mere 2 minute film shows frustration and it doesn't empower anyone neither men or women.

But that's the problem of a person who will not take it seriously. It means those people are looking for excuse to not to take it seriously !!!!

Do you comment on growing intolerance if a comedian is interrupted in between his gig and bashed for sexist jokes?

It happened at a law college in Delhi and the comedian got trashed by a group of women students. They brought out placards saying, Get out you sexist pig!

Was it not intolerance? Was calling him a pig, a healthy expression of disagreement/dislike?

It works every way. Had such a #MyChoice video been made by men and same words were said, everyone would be outraging and it would be primetime debate and eat up reams of newsprint. We don't call it frustration or excuse then!

Deepika video still got let off lightly. It is not a subject of all primetime debates the way it would be if a man had made such video.

One cannot change terms subjectively. This is not empowerment.
