That wasn't my point. I supported DP for shutting up Lady Macbeth (as you rightly said) but my point was that she has always gone above and beyond to come off as a victim in most situations just to stay in the news. From the very beginning. It makes her come off as fake and defeats the purpose of her 'stand' on certain things due to the excessive PR activities to show her in the victim light. I am all for taking a stand against abuse, harassment and everything along that genre. But, the way DP stretches her issues to make a huge deal and PR stunt out of things makes her nothing but fake (which is an understatement to describe her IMO). I'll give it to her for the Shobha De case for taking a stand. But at that time, she very smartly USED it ALONG with her break-up with RK to play victim. She incorporated both things together (cause they happened near the same time) and made herself look like a poor innocent damsel, showing the pity-me card. Be it all that or her PR stunt with TOI or the post-AIB Knockout phase, this is what she does. Publicity in the name of "standing up for a cause".

I feel sorry for her sometimes because she is so desperate for attention all the times that when her stardom fades away, she seems like one of those celebs who go crazy and bitter as they can't take being a 'nobody'.

Go back to 2006 when AK started revamping his image and the controversies he found himself in, every few weeks and chart his progress till now, also observe change in tenor of comments on him earlier and comments now. It will give a basic idea of Deepika's intended path as well (if she keeps going this way that is).

The defenders already gave their verdict. The reactions are result of our "hypocritical" culture and patriarchy. The fault was only ours in each controversy.
Regarding choices in films, they are fictional, they are meant to entertain and they have consent therefore no one can point fingers at films, ads, shows.

There is a reason why the nickname "female Aamir Khan" has been making the round for a while now. Given enough time, peeps will believe it just like they are believing the superstar no1 allround actress schtick too now.
